I leave in July, I don't know if its to early to start getting things together? What things do I need that I might not think of?
Thank you

We'll be at Disney in just 8 more days, but I pulled all of my clothes together about 3 weeks ago. Haven't actually packed yet, will do that, hopefully Sunday. Also have a 'don't forget list' of all the things I don't want to forget to take with me and, of course, do, before I leave. I started that ages ago. I'm always so afraid of forgetting to do something or leave something behind.

You sound a little crazy, just like me!!:rotfl:
We leave in June....and when I said I wanted my husband to take the luggage out he thought I was a little nuts. I also have my checklists ready and want to start too....I guess it's just the anticipation of going!!! Have Fun!!!:thumbsup2

I have started gathering things for my July 6th departure already! :lmao:
Things like, rain ponchos, quarters/pennies for pressed penny machines. Trading pins, Some special Disney clothing, items to decorate our hotel window...etc.. There is an "Ultimate Packing List" somewhere. I'll try to find it and post a link! :goodvibes

I always pack the day before because I have it down to a science.....we travel alot so some things like toiletries I never unpack.

Here are some of things I shared with my DBF to get ready really early to relieve some of her stress.

-Sunscreen, lots of it. It is very expensive in the resorts & they have a very limited selection.
-Portable GPS + charger if you are renting a car
-Call Garden Grocer & put your order in
-Cell phone & camera battery chargers
-make sure all your luggage has correct tags with all your info on them
-try to mark your luggage with something that will make it stand out (especially if it's black) my DBF & I made pictures with her kids on heavy paper...they decorated the paper on one side & we put all their info and laminated them to use as luggage tags
-Pack your "busy" bags for the plane depending on the age of your kids...coloring books, gum for ears, playing cards, etc
-DVDs to use in the resort for down time or a very rainy day
-put together your umbrellas, ponchos

Just some ideas to give you a head start. Enjoy your trip!

I dont leave till sept. I have a bag in my closet that i have been adding misc. things to for our trip.(water fans, ponchos, kids toys for down time and what nots) I dont think its ever to eraly to start your packing. This way you know what you have and what you need! have a great time on your trip!

I'm just getting around to it today !! YIKES !!

Leave in two weeks and I am packing today.
Have had multiple piles in my room for months and it is stressing me out.
I am cleaning the whole room today and just packing my suitcase. Hubby is on
his own. He will probably pack the morning we leave. Uggghhhh!!

We are not going until Sept. 09 but I already have a "Disney Box" and it is getting full. We are really bad about packing early. Just love seeing those suitcases out and knowing where they will be heading. On our last Disney trip I had the suitcases out on the guest bed two months before our trip and I imagine it will be the same way for the next one.

Can you tell me why do people put things on the windows in the hotel? can you please explain to me.:confused3 :confused3

I wondered this as well...IMHO it makes the resort look terrible.

I remember about 10 years ago when I first stayed in Value the Mousekeepers used to place any stuffed animals you had with you in the the window sills. With the curtains closed it kind of looked like a shadow box full of Disney stuff. I think it kind of took off from there. True some can get a little out of hand but I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. :lmao:

my girls packed their bags last week, we leave on july 18th. i did limit them to 3 small stuffed animals each, boy they take up alot of room in a bag. i usually pack completly about a week before. i have been collecting the small things i will need...travel size stuff for a few weeks now. i am having the hardest time with sunblock. i can't find anything under 3 ozs. we are landing at night, and me will deliver our bags the next day. my dd11 tried to pack 7 different purses (one for each day) and my dd7 tried to pack all of her princess dresses (8 of them) this is why i like for them to pack early, they need to be realistic. i am keeping us at one checked bag each no matter what. we are down to 2 purses and 3 dresses. i have no idea what she was thinking packing all these long, frilly princess dresses for july. i talked her down to 2 with short sleeves and her jasmine.

the mousekeepers put towel animals in the windows and mixed in the girls stuffed animals with them. i loved watching them sprint to the room to see what was added. it always made me smile when i saw a window with christmas lights in it. i don't think it took away from the resort, just brought the christmas feel to it.

We have a few weeks until our trip(June 27th) but I know how all of a sudden the day arrives and you got nuts trying to remember what to bring!:goofy:

I'm leaving July 6th, as I posted earlier I have already begun, gathering little things I'll fear to forget! Today I filled a little travel size bottle with dish washing detergent and also packed a little sponge so we can wash our refillable mugs at the room. After a few days, the rinsing in the food court just does not do the trick! I'm looking forward to a nice clean mug every day!

I usually begin gathering items early.

Like a previous poster mentioned, I keep a box of "stuff I need" for the trip such as the misting fans, rain ponchos, etc. I also keep a list of things I still need to find/purchase for our Aug/Sept trip in my purse...just in case I either need to add to my list or if I find something on the list, I can go ahead and buy it and then I can check it off the list.

As far as "real packing" goes...I probably won't start that until about a week or so before we leave.

I've been "hoarding" things I've bought in my Disney box. Like santa I'm making a list and checking it twice. We leave June 28th and boy it can't come soon enough for me.:yay:

Mentally, I have begun to pack and gather things, physically I have not done a thing!!:upsidedow Now that my DDs are older it's easier to get things together. But when they where younger I would start as soon as we booked!

I just got the suitcases down this past weekend for our trip in Sept. I figured I could just put them in the spare bedroom & begin packing them with things like rain panchos, handheld fans, travel size toiletries, etc. IMO it's better to be OCD and start early rather than start late & forget something.
