When did you send your inspiration pics?

I'm only getting a phone planning session, and pretty much dealing by email with everyone else.

When do you send your pics through to your planner? Or to your hair and makeup person?

I've got my phone planning session booked in for next Thursday, do I start sending pics like crazy?

Thanks

Im not sure my answer is the best, but I had my phone planning on August 26, 2010 and I sent my inspiration pix right after I hung up the phone. We discussed everything and I asked if she wanted to me to send the piix as we were speaking she said no...that she was taking notes and that the pictures would be sorted and then sent to the right ppl (floral or for herself, or the chefs...)hth

I sent stuff to Rosie a couple days before and she had it all there...we were on the phone for 2 hours emailing back and forth and getting everything squared away.
I'd bring your hair and make up pics with you...
As for photographers....I'm going to send stuff the week before...

I had an actual PS, but I sent my planner an initial e-mail inquiring about a very specific flower I was interested in about 2-3 weeks ahead of the actual date. I knew it was an odd request and didn't know if it would be in season, plus I hadn't seen it used for centerpieces, etc often and had to really look hard for inspiration pics.

They forwarded my photos and questions to the floral dept and when my PS came along our floral person had already done plenty of research and could tell us that the specific flower we wanted was out of season and that the only silks available were in a color we were not interested in, so that really cut down the whole waiting game and we got a lot of decisions made during the PS.

For hair and make up I just brought inspiration pics to my trial and that was perfectly fine :thumbsup2

If you think the wedding inspiration picutres would help your planner in discussing what you want for your wedding during your telephone call then I would send them a week before. State that you hope she can review them prior to the phone call so you can get into some details during the call.

If your inspiration pics are all about the floral and decorations then I would wait and send them to your floral person once they contact you and you have your appointment scheduled with them. I always copied my planner on all my e-mails with the floral anyway so she knew what was going on and the concept.

As for hair and makeup I sent picutures of myself and the other people in my wedding party about a week before our appointments. I also gave general details of what we would like (air brush, eyelashes) and a short note on anything we thought would be a problem or concern, for example I have a large sunspot on my face. I did this so they would know who they were working with and could prepare. As my Sister and I have really short hair and I wanted them to see this. As a result they reduced the cost of the hair for us two :thumbsup2 and also knew to bring a really small 1/4 inch curling iron to work on our hair. They seemed to appreciate knowing this information ahead of time. I don't think you need to send info to your hair and make specialist too far in advance as I am sure they won't focus on it until close to your date due to their workload, just give them enough time in case they need something special for your day.

We were interested in a custom cake, the one with the rhinestone ribbons, so I sent the pic to my wedding planner as soon as possible, so I could find a backup, in case the cost was too high. I didn't send my floral pics to Rosie until we were on the phone in our planning session, I just sent them over while we were talking.

I am having a hair trial here in MI on Sept 11th, I will bring my inspiration pics to my stylist here and she already promised to take tons of pics for the Beaute Speciale gals. Ana asked that I send those hair trial pics as soon as I can, so they can adjust time and/or cost if necessary.

Honestly, no one has complained about me sending too many emails or too soon or anything like that. I think they are all really understanding when you are planning a wedding entirely over the phone or thru email.

I made a little pdf with about 6 pages, and a few photos on each page with a little description by them. Like a bouquet/bout page, WP page, WHR page, Cake page, DP page etc.

I sent it through with my questionnaires, to Disney floral and my planner.

Both said that it was great, and really helped them, and that I didn't the phone call anymore! :rotfl: They may well have just been being kind though, and really think I'm a crazy lady!

i nerdily made a power point presentation about trace and i and sent that off pretty early after reading about that idea on the disney wedding blog. i didn't think we would end up being able to do an on site planning session (we did) and thought it would be a good way to get our personalities across.

it was very helpful but seems to be some kind of document in stone, whereas i meant it as an inspiration take off point. ("THATS not like your bouquet pics here!" - :scared1:)
