When did you send out your invitations?

I am just trying to figure out when to send what, any suggestions? Here is what I am currently thinking:

STD from Disney - around 12 mo. when we book
Newsletter/Pre-invitation, and website address - 10 mo.
Invitations? 4mo.?

Did anyone do a pre-invitation? I think it sounds like a good idea, just ask guests something like do you think you will be able to make it?
Yes, No, Maybe? Any opinions?
Getting a general idea would be a really big help because it might affect our venue choices.

I have no idea when to send out the actual invitations since it's a destination wedding. The earlier the better without sending them too far.

I always considered the STD a pre-invitiation, only people you are inviting are getting it afterall. We're only having 20 people and everyone alreayd knows but I'm sending my STD's out tomorrow (just over 6 months out) and I plan to send the invitations out in August.

We mailed out our invites about 1.5 months before our wedding. And by that point everyone already knew if they were coming or not, it was just a matter of formality :cutie: Our Save the Dates went out like 5 months before the wedding.

My save the dates went out 7 monhs before the wedding and my invitations went out at three months. I wanted to have a firm guest count when I had to make my final payment at 30 days out so I asked for the rsvp's back about a month before the 30 day mark.

My final payment was due on this past Friday and I had a final guest count as well. I think for a destination wedding, sending out the invites with plenty of time for their return is very important. 3 months seems like the best option.

I sent out our Save the Date, newsletter and Pre-RSVP at around 12 months when we knew the date. Disney's Save the Dates went out after we signed the contract, so that was 8 months or so. And our invitations will be sent out after I manage to clear a surface and assemble the rest of them  (we just moved). I think 3 months is a good time frame for that. By the time ours go out it will be a little less than 3 months.

We sent our STDs out a little over a year from the wedding. We sent out invites out about 7 months beforehand and had RSVPs back about 3-4 months out. Everyone knew by then if they were coming or not and booked. Sending out our STDs early with all the website info on it etc allowed for a lot of people to start planning their trip. We had about 80 guests!!!
