When did you last deep clean your fridge?

Today, I spent about two hours deep cleaning my large fridge. When I started I didn’t think it was actually that bad, but figured I would clean one shelf, then two shelves, etc. Before I knew it I was knee deep in stuck on gunk and tons of crumbs deep in the crevices. While I wipe it out each week when I restock, I can’t remember the last time I deep cleaned it. It feels so good to have it done.

It’s been too long since I cleaned the entire fridge - probably more than 6 months. I did empty and clean the freezer a couple of months ago, but the fridge needs a good cleaning. It does feel good to have it done!

I can't imagine a refrigerator taking 2 hours to deep clean. We have a 26 cubic foot side my side and I think it might take 15 minutes to deep clean it, and most of that time would be to unload and reload it.
I think when I was in the kid, before my parents had a frost free refrigerator, it took 2 hours to defrost the freezer.

I try and do it each time I order groceries, but a stupid few weeks have put me behind. So, it's been about 3-4 weeks and you can tell.

Every couple of months or so. Honestly our fridge is never filled to the brim so it's pretty easy to clean the shelves including the crumbs underneath and the drawers as well. I'll clean the top of the shelves more frequently especially if there's an obvious leak that occurred.

But my mother-in-law's fridge? That hasn't been ever cleaned I don't think given how completely stacked full tetris style it is.

Waaaaay too long ago. Probably July. It's actually pretty grim in there right now and I know it needs to be done but I'd be lying if I said it will get done before Christmas. Time flies and those jobs aren't in my regular chore routine like laundry and scrubbing the floors, nor will they likely ever be.

11 months ago - I do this every January when it’s cold outside so my items can sit outside in laundry baskets as I deep clean. It does take me awhile to do since I strip the fridge of everything to clean every surface - walls, shelves, doors, drawers in the sink with soap & water, shelves in the doors are washed with soap and water - it’s a process. I’m not sure how long it takes, I’ve never timed it, but I do know it takes over an hour.

If messes happen throughout the year, then I clean that up then.

A couple weeks ago I did the pantry and fridge. I did a purge and donation before Thanksgiving.
