Initial call to MS was mid Dec 01, called back a few days later to go ahead, and had to wait until Christmas vacation was over for our guide to get paperwork rolling, by the time New Years vacation was over we got paperwork to fill out and sent back. We became official mid Jan02. Boy those few days of vacation sure seemed long!! Happy to finally own 220 pts at VWL.

We bought our first resale of 230 points at OKW in April 1997 for $55 per point. It had 172 points left on the 1996 use year and free park passes through 1999 .

Gigashadow, are you refering to Betty Prikryl? She's our guide and has been great to work with in the initial purchase at BCV and just recently our add-on there. - fixintodie

Yep, the one and only! Betty was straight foward and covered all topic's needed to truly understand DVC without having to drag a thing out of her. We just had to convince ourselfs to spend some of our "gains" we took advantage of before the market tanked - She put up with me for a couple of weeks and right to a minute before VWL new contracts ended and with $10 MB(at the time) in Febuary 2002.

We dropped in on her 2 months later at the DVC center in the Boardwalk and enjoyed a handful of laughs

Wow, I didnt know they USED to do FREE(???) park passes!!!!!!!!!! I would have fell over!!!!!!!!!

We go 4-5 times per yr and just decided to buy annual passes so that is cheaper insted fo doing the limited day hopper tickets every time!

So glad we are DVC members !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We signed our contract on 12/1/91.

We added on the VWL in 2002.

Nancy, we lost a mountain.

KNWViking, there's a limit as to how many fields you can have in a poll. I'm sure that's why some of the years had to be combined.

We bought origonally in 1994 , when they replaced the sales office (forgot the name)with the new units we bought 50 extra pts.

We joined in April of 2000. Stopped at wdw on a trip to Fort Myers and walking by a kiosk at animal kingdom I stopped in just to have a quick look. Thats all it took. We are now planning our 5th trip for this summer.

We bought one month later on 3/3/02 and we were told WE got one of the last VWL contracts. We were told if we didn't decide that day they could only sell us BCV. Of course I think they were selling VWL into the summer last year, weren't they? I don't care, I'm happy.

No, we have been doing the WDW thing for years, but not DVC.

I guess they started and stoped selling VWL several times. The original last day was 2/2/02, as BCV was going on sale the morning of the 3rd.

Anyhow, I'm glad you were able to get VWL...

We bought into DVC at the end of March 2002, we wanted VWL, but we were told they were sold out, so we bought BCV. A fellow co-worker bought into VWL in November 2001, that's what sold me on DVC, she and her DH shared their information packet with my DW and I, we couldn't wait until our Spring Break trip in 2002 to take a tour and see it for ourselves. My only regret, I wish I had called sooner before our trip and made a purchase over the phone for VWL. Live and learn!!!

We purchased in 1993 and miss the park passes as well. Sticker shock is an understatement - we have only been once since having to purchase them but have sailed on the Magic twice using points. Gotta love cruising for $75.00!

We signed our contract in August of 2000 during a stay at Vero Beach. We just love it there. We had been very close to signing in June '97, but decided we didn't have enough funds to comfortably buy at that time. Wish we had though !
We wanted VWL but they weren't for sale yet......our options were Vero, OKW, BWV and HH. Even though OKW is where we knew we primarily wanted to stay when we signed in 2000, I sort of wish we had bought BWV. Why ? Because I don't think I'll ever have much of a chance to stay there ever, as I'd like to do from time to time. From all the posts I've read on these boards, it is tough to get. Had I made BWV my home, I would have had no trouble getting OKW, but still been able to stay at BWV on occassion. We prefer OKW because of the larger villas and lower points. I suppose I wasn't thinking of how difficult it would be to secure a BW ressie.....our guide, Leslie Lee, never let-on to this and I wish I had been reading these boards more at the time because I would have picked up on this and chose BW as our home. Don't get me wrong---we're thrilled with OKW, but just thought an occassional stay at BW would be nice too.

We bought right up to the last minute as well. My DH wouldn't buy anywhere else. Thus, this resort being the closet he could get to the MK.
