When Did You First Join DVC?

We bought in 1993 and have had so many wonderful trips. It's the best investment we ever made.

Very early 2006, but it seems like a lifetime ago now. We bought 150 BW points through the Timeshare Store. We took no tour and had never stayed at BWV before we purchased.

We soon added 180 points at VWL in April, 2006 and then 200 points at AKV in February 2007. I think we have enough points now.

After 5 years of visiting the OKW Resort models, my late husband and I first purchased in 1997. He was able to enjoy 3 years of DVC vacations, before suddenly passing away. My only regret has been not buying it sooner... But my girls, DH John and I have been able to take many WDW and DCL cruise vacations over the past years.

Purchased in March 0f 1992 sight unseen. WE had many wonderful visits and memories with many friends. My wife passed away in 2005 after a short illness. The memories which I have will always be with me.

Good observation. Wondering about the outlier for 1993. Was it incentives, marketing push ect???

Made my first trip of my life to Disney last April (07) and joined a few days after returning. I had the time of my life with my family and am looking forward to many more years of them to come.

We actually toured DVC in 1992 when there was only the now OKW which wasn't completed and at that time I was a little hesitant because I wasn't sure I wanted to be committed to just staying at OKW. Then when we toured again in 1993 they had added the other resorts to places you could stay, Poly, etc. That sold it for us. Ironically, we love OKW so much that is where we stay. Also, they gave us free passes into the parks for our length of stay each time we visited - this incentive was good through the end of 1999 or 2000. Can't remember which year and the points cost a lot less back then. However, the main reason we bought is because we had been going to Disney every year at that time and we love it. We now go twice a year for two weeks periods, once just us and once with family or friends.
