When did they start calling them "Ding Dongs" again?

Ding Dong, Texas is in Bell County!

I love Ding Dongs. I buy the big box at Sam's all the time. Two of my DS's like to eat them frozen.
I also love Suzy Q's and Snowballs!!

Wait, I thought Angel was the Ding Dong? :confused3

And who really cares, they are both chocolate and that is a very good thing! :thumbsup2 And now I have to go see if there are any Ding Dongs left in the kitchen. :sad2:

Come on! You can sit in the middle of the table with a large glass of milk with me. I start on one side and you start on the other.

Thats how I remember them . And the Drakes were always better then the Hostess

Psssttt... Drakes and Hostess are the same company now(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interstate_Bakeries_Corporation) ;)

Drakes are also regional only to the NE :p Per wikipedia they were renamed from King Dongs to Ding Dongs again in 1998 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ding_Dong

Ho Ho's I think have always been the cylindrical rolled cakes covered in chocolate. Ding Dongs have always been round and just filled cakes.

Personally I don't like Ding Dongs that much anyway :p

My brother gave me these to use as a dessert for a Relay for Life concession stand fundraiser. He didnt charge me a dime and still drove from AL to central FL with all these in his truck. He is a route sales manager for Hostess. I got connections babe!

Seriously though I do have issues!

OK, there are a LOT of boxes left for your fundraiser..how many did you start out with?

BTW, great guy your brother!:cool1:

I just saw a show on food network this past week that explained the Ding Dong / King Don issue. Drake came out with the ring ding first and then Hostess copied it and named it Ding Dong. Drake sued Hostess and the name had to be changed on the east cost were Drake is popular. Here in Michigan it was the Ding Dong then for some reason we started getting them as King Dons some times and Ding Dongs some times. I think in places besides the east coast it just depends on were they are being shipped from. In my area we do not have Drakes at all we do have Little Debbie and she is cheap compared to Hostess.

This helps with my original question..it must be a regional thing, as I grew up in the Detroit area!! I thought I remembered the name change came along because "Ding Dong" was a little naughty. I don't remember things so well anymore...
