Just returned today from the house of mouse. We did a character lunch at Crystal Palace. We had 6 adults and 1 child. The price was $204.and some change.

Adult prices were $24.99 and the child price was $13.99. Almost $30 for tip which was kind of outrageous considering it's a buffet.

Food was pretty good and the characters were very accommodating.

They have been creeping up for while but mostly unnoticed because of the dining plan.

Groups of 6 or more automatically has the tip added to the check.

I am glad you enjoyed the food & characters.

I think you may have had Holiday Pricing.

They have added holiday pricing at certain times of the year-even part of the summer.

What you don't want to here is that today that meal would have cost you $26 less. You did pay holiday surcharges of $4 per adult and $2 per child.

Glad you had a good experience!

HEY Bill-- fancy seeing you here.
We are planning a 2010 disney vacation for that is when my grand daughter turns 5.
Did you all have a good time?

All of the month of June was considered "holiday" so the prices were higher. Not sure what holiday it was that they were celebrating, though, :lmao: I have a kid with a birthday in June, but we only celebrated for 3 days, not the whole month (shhhh, don't give him any ideas!)

Holiday surcharge period does not have to necessarily include a holiday( but it sometimes does)It is just a designated period that disney feels is a peak dining time and they decided to add a surcharge onto the buffets.

Serene,
Yes we had a great time. Missed my cruise though. I wore the soles off of my new sneakers we walked so much!:rotfl2:

I was at Disney last year for 1 day so didn't notice then but this year I noticed they had so many workers from different parts of the world.

Peru, Venezuela, Haiti, Jamaica,China, to name a few.

Some of them had very thick accents and they were the ones with the microphones at the attractions and were very hard to understand.

Disney should change the designation from "holiday" to "seasonal". The dining rates are in line with their resort pricing.

Ok, I have a question. Do they increase the quality of food at these times? I do not see why if I am getting the same food as others at different times why I would pay more because of the date on a calander? Do they offer better items at the buffets?

No, the food is the same.
