You can choose the ticket option after you choose the accommodation option on the Disney websites because you can choose different lengths of stay tickets.

They started selling the Magic Your Way tickets in 2005, which I believe is when they dropped the Length Of Stay passes. The reasoning was that guests were complaining about having to buy 10 day tickets in order to stay 10 nights on property, even if they were only planning on visiting parks on 5 of their days there.
