At the D23 Expo in 2011 John Lasseter announced a contest. He never had a photo of himself as a cruise skipper so if anyone had one they would win a private Jungle Cruise with him and a trip to Disneyland for the 2012 opening of Carsland. Wonder if anyone came through with a photo?

Headed to WDW next week...plan to ride the JC several times to hear different skippers. Hopefully at least one goes off-script.

The tone of the ride not only depends on the skipper, but also WHO is in the boat. The passengers can make or break the experience. Night time was the BEST - skippers get a little loopy at night. So sad they did away with the pistols, that was really fun, shooting away the hippos - we couldn't shoot AT them or they would get little divots. I can't wait to go back and get lost in the jungle again... just hope to come back.

Our skipper last time was hilarious. Mum noticed a duck in the lake and commented on it, and the skipper proceeded to joke about her being "obsessed with ducks"

He also kept asking her if she was having fun because she was frowning at a couple of points.

Love Jungle Cruise. The stupid, corny humor makes the attraction. Without it, it's just a boat ride past a bunch of fake animals...why bother?
