I was slaving away in the back yard last summer and I heard my neighbor tell his dd that if she didn't behave, she'd have to sit on the patio and do nothing....I yelled, punish me, please.
I remember being made to sit in a chair for 15 minutes and do nothing when I was being punished as a child....can I please do that now? Maybe 30 minutes or an hour?
I was sent to my room and could only read a book.....gasp....the horror....not that......
Any others????

I would kill for someone to send me to my room. Just a book, no kids no husband.... Paradise:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :cool1: :cool1:

lol...This is a running joke between my wife and I. Both of us have agreed that you know you are an adult when being sent to "time out" is no longer a bad thing. :teeth:

My punishment was never to sit still. My punishment WAS the yard work. :scared: And now I would rather do yard work than go to work. :)

I remember if I left the lights on in my room I had to go stand by the lightswitch for half an hour. That was horrible. I wouldn't want to do that again. But now I'm all about energy conservation. :teeth:

Spanking.......na, I'm not going to go there.....

In the past, when my dd was misbehaving, I would threaten her by saying that if she didn't behave, she would have to take a nap. I've since smartened up. Now if she misbehaves, I give myself a nap instead. :thumbsup2

:rotfl2: This reminded me of the time when my oldest daughter was around three years old. We were at an airport waiting for my husband's flight, and my daughter started getting antsy. She wanted to walk on the row of chairs, not hold my hand, etc. I bent down to her level and quietly, (I didn't want anyone to hear my threat of punishment:rotfl: ), said to her, "If you don't start behaving, I am going to make you sit out in the van."

My daughter loudly responded in a sing-song voice, "I WANT to go sit in the van!"

Well, I thought it was a good punishment, but it didn't faze her in the least!

edited to add: Not that I actually would have sent her out to sit in the van anyway. Talk about an idiotic threat!

I used to love it when my parents sent me to my room

LOL telephone, tv, radio, books... no punishment there- when mom finally caught on I was punished from my room and allowed to only sleep in it.

My oldest son used to get punished by having to go outside and play- he hated it-

You just brought back a memory for me. When my cousin was younger (I'm 35 and he is currently 19) he kicked his cat while he was playing outside. Well, I took him inside and sent him to his parent's room while telling him that it was wrong and abusive to kick a cat. He asked me why his parent's room and my response was "Because there are no tv, toys or video games in your parent's room like there is in your room."

See, I got smart b/c I used to hide a radio in my room when my parents sent me there as punishment (I didn't have a tv in my room back then). That is until I was found out by my mom <yikes>!

My DD8 loves being sent to her room. She loves to read so it's not punishment for her. So I send her to MY room instead - it's very boring in there.

DH always says to the girls, that if they don't do their chores, early to bed---I beg to be in on that deal. I'll go to bed early, and not do any chores. I won't even be mouthy about it.
