When Did I get Voted Off of Skinny Island #2: Castaway's Land Ho!!!!

Congrats Amanda and Gelly!! Isn't weight loss great?? :thumbsup2

Dawn: So sorry to hear about your loss. Sending prayers your way.

I am down 1.2 for the week, which totally made my day this morning!! I wasn't expecting anything at all really so I was pleasantly surprised.

Today is my first "home alone" day and I have been putting it to good use. DS started SK today and so once everyone left for school this morning it was just me in the house.:cloud9: I've been waiting for this since early August. :rotfl2:

And how have I been spending my time, you ask?? I've been cleaning. :lmao: I didn't get everything done last week what with the lethargy and all so I'm trying to get caught up this week.

I did the fridge today (yuck!!) and now it sparkles and shines. :cool1: More organizational jobs too and so this place is slowly getting to where I'd like it to be.

I have to be at the bus stop in exactly two hours and the weather is beautiful so I'm going to go and take a walk and get in some more exercise points (I earned 6 with all my cleaning) in just a minute here.

I've been tracking my losses weekly on an excel spreadsheet and discounting my first two weeks (for the big weight loss numbers) my average weekly loss is 1.6 pounds. I'm going to count the remaining weeks of the year, and multiply by 1.6 to get an idea of what goal to set for January 1st, 2011. Of course, I told DH this morning that it occurred to me that I'll likely gain 10 pounds on our vacation (I HOPE it's only 10 pounds :scared1:) but he assured me that if it's easy on like that, it will be easy off too.

I hope he's right.

Hope everyone has a great week!!

Dawn, safe travels for you and your family.

Congratulations to everyone that lost weight. I knew I wasn't going to be in your bunch since last week was such a fluke with being sick. I'm +2 something. I changed computers and I don't have my tracking spreadsheet on the new one yet. Of course today I've been starving all day long. I was really craving a twix bar but held out. Then my boss offered me a Riesen chocolate and I caved. Well the universe is out there to tell me that I shouldn't be eating that and I popped a crown right off. Had to run to the dentist to get it cemented back on. Guess I'll be staying away from Riesens from now on.

I've really got to get cracking on the diet. I'm running out of time before our trip.

I maintained this week! WOO!

Still holding steady at 185!

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Dawn.... I'm so sorry, prayers headed your way!

Congrats gellybean (Aimee, right?, like I said, I'm bad with names).!

School is getting very, very, very hectic...need sleep.

And I'm setting a new goal for myself: give up Diet Coke! (I've literally become addicted to it....like 2 or 3 a day. So, yeah. New goal for me.

hugs to Dawn

I got my blood drawn yesterday for weight loss program thru work. They track cholesterol, sugar, blood pressure, etc. this week and in 10 weeks. They say average person loses 10-15 lbs. MAN that would be great. I will be watching online videos, entering weekly weight, and have access to some sort of a counselor too.

Will let you know how it goes! Was thinking this would be a good time to start tracking again... I went a little crazy w/ carby snacks today after fasting for blood work! Need to put it in writing :)

wwheat english muffin/1 egg
granola bar
can wonton soup, rice crackers/laughing cow wedge
granola bar, another serving of rice crackers w/ wedge
turkey chili, 1.5 jiffy corn muffins
9/15 done

BTW...same dang weight as the last million weeks!

Here's my tracking for yesterday. I had all intentions of going home and making a big salad for dinner after Malachi's football practice, but as you can see, that didn't happen...

Morning guys. I will post last week and this week on WED.

A close family friend passed away and the kids and I needed to head out of town for the services. Please keep us in your prayers for safe travel.

Thanks,
Dawn

Sorry for your loss:hug:

I have no idea if I gained or maintained last week because I refuse to get on the scale right now. Even though I ran 8 miles last friday & 3 on sunday my stomach has been so bloated from all the crap I ate all weekend. I'm scared to see how much damage was done. So I'm going to go with denial right now :lmao:

So I jumped back on the back on the ole bandwagon yesterday and here's what i ate:

Monday Sept. 13:
brkfst - yogurt, coffee w/creamer
lunch - tuna, 5 saltine crackers, 1/2 cup cottage cheese, steamed broccoli (I needed to go to the grocery store & this was all I could come up with from my fridge)
snack - 1 pack kellogg's special k fruit crisps
dinner - 3oz. burger patty, sauteed mushrooms, baked potato, salad w/2TB oil & vinegar dressing

Swam 45 mins (about 1200 meters)

Hello fellow castaways!

I just realized that I forgot to post yesterday. I was so wrapped up in work and sewing that I just plum forgot.

Anyway, this week I'm -1.6, not too shabby. Only 8 pounds to go to reach my goal weight, which will hopefully be before my birthday in November.

This Saturday is DH's birthday and he wants to go to a Japanese steakhouse with some friends. Then I'm sure we'll come back here for cake and games. So I'm not expecting a big loss next week. ;)

I learned something new this week. Apparently on WW your exercise points are tied to your weight. So the less you weigh, the fewer points you get. Today when I entered my workout, I only got 2 points instead of 3. I was robbed! Because trust me, it's no less hard now than it was when I weighed 1 pound more.

Last Friday I went to my DD's Girl Scout meeting. The leader brought up an upcoming trip that the service unit has planned. The trip will take girls (and their parents) to Savannah, GA to see the founder's birth place, home, and first headquarters. They'll visit some other Savannah sites and after that head to WDW for a couple of days. The leader and the other mom (the troop only has 3 girls) were convinced we could do a trip like this on our own. So since I work from home I said I'd look into it. So the end result of all of this is that I may be planning a little mini-trip for next June for DD and I. If it happens, it will be a lot of fun!

Off to sew Halloween costumes!

I know this is old news, but Amanda...thanks again for that old tip about getting Pringles to answer the ol' chip craving.

They were on sale over the weekend so I let the kids pick out a tube each and DD chose the reduced fat plain ones. She shared a serving with me last night to go along with my hot dog and salad for dinner and I carefully counted out the 18 I was allowed for three points and put them on my plate. DD's eyes got very wide and she said, "that's how many you can have? Wow, that's a lot!!" :rotfl: It was especially funny, because I was thinking the exact same thing!!

It DID feel like a lot and I really enjoyed them. I almost felt a little guilty even...like it was cheating to have them. They were so totally worth it!!

DH has been eyeballing my snacks again! Grrr!! I specifically took him shopping with me on Saturday so that he could pick out his own things (which he did) and then last night he was considering having one of MY Hagan Daaz 4 point dark chocolate bars. I forget what kind of ice cream he picked out but he did get something of his own. He put them in the basement freezer and I guess was too lazy to go and retrieve one.

I didn't forbid him or give away what I was thinking but in the end he decided to have some regular ice cream (which belongs to the kids!!) so my bars were safe. And then he had the nerve to accuse ME of eating his weight watchers mini carrot cakes!! Uh! Hello...that was ALL YOU piggy!! :sad2: I think they're .

Yesterday I earned 13 exercise points!! But I overdid it a tiny bit so today I'm taking it easy. I didn't hurt myself or anything but my hip flexors are protesting and I want to keep up a good pace the entire week long. So far I've only done 2 miles but I am going to do a bit more before the day is done.

I'm going to add in my weight training next week. I still have a few things to do up this week spring cleaning-wise so that's my top priority right now. By next week it should be just general housekeeping and that doesn't earn TOO many exercise points so I'll need the boost the weights will bring.

Hope everyone has a good, strong week!!

Hey guys,

I hope everyone's week is going well.
(I promise, one day this week, I'll get back in the loop.......)

So, I guess this is one slightly good piece of news (in a weird way...)

Remember, I'm in High school....and it's fall..

Fall = cool (relatively speaking for Louisiana), football, festivals, school's back in swing, and Homecoming dance.

And, this year, I'm kind of actually looking forward to it. (I've never looked forward to it before, but this year I am, and I'm slightly confident in asking someone....never happened before. (My last 2 years, were a train wreck).

So, yes, my slightly good news.
Now, like i've said before, I've created a new goal for myself: give up diet coke, so far, so good! And, also, I'm setting a new goal for myself.... (this may sound a little selfish). But I want abs...

hehe. Even I laugh at that...
it's going to take a lot of work, but I hope y'all will support me in both of these goals.

Well, it's Tuesday, 2 days of the week over! Woohoo!

Have a good rest of the week my friends! (btw: would y'all like to see a before and after pic?)

- Patrick.

You're kidding right??? Of course, we want to see before and after. That's my favorite part of Biggest Loser and talk shows about weight loss and magazine articles and...
I'm so glad you are looking forward to your year and good luck on your new goals. Giving up pop stinks. Hope you don't get the caffeine-deprived migrane that I usually do.
You mentioned abs, what are abs???? I've never had those??? :rotfl:

Good morning, all!

Julie- I know..LOVE the pringles! I have to admit though, I burned myself out on them, lol..right now it's baked cheetos at my house! 34 pcs per serving! LOL. I get you on the diet food thing, With Piper home our food budget is stretched a lot tighter, so I've had to give up my WW ice cream bars and bought the sugar free fudge pops instead. I don't mind sharing those with Piper, but the WW bars were off limits, lol.

Patrick- YES, of course we want to see pics! Silly question! I'm glad you're feeling so much more confident, I was one of the fat chics in high school, so I completely understand what that felt like! Way to go on the diet coke, and I know you can get the abs you want!

Barb- I bet the japanese steakhouse won't be as bad as you think calorie-wise! I was a career GS, you and your daughter will love Savannah and the Juliette Gordon Lowe house..it was so neat seeing all the history first hand, and not just in the pages of a book! I would encourage you to keep your daughter excited and involved, as she gets older GS's really provide a lot of wonderful opportunities, most of which I wouldn't have had otherwise. I went to sailing camp in Mystic, CT, worked at a camp for disabled children in Missouri, did a tour of New England, etc. I loved every minute of it!

Okay couple of days here, I have some kind of cold or allergy issues going on, the last mile of my walk this morning I felt like "time to make the donuts" guy! It completely sucked! Piper's getting her port flushed today, which is always a joyous occasion..best of all, home health just called about it this morning, so she has no advanced warning. Okay, enough negative nelly..hope everyone has a great day!

You're kidding right??? Of course, we want to see before and after. That's my favorite part of Biggest Loser and talk shows about weight loss and magazine articles and...

Yes, those are my favorite parts of those show too. Love to see the pictures and read or listen to how they achieved their goals and also how they are maintaining.

(btw: would y'all like to see a before and after pic?)

So Patrick, I agree that you sould definatly post the before and after pics.

I need to try and be better about not eating all my point so late in the evening. When I got home from work yesterday I still had 23 points left and then between my sons tennis and zumba I did not get a chance to cook and eat dinner together until 9. Need to plan my menu’s better for those days when there is both tennis and zumba. So, that also means that I may have to sacrifice us sitting down and eating together on those days because because of everything going on.

I finally got up the nerve to get on the scale and I'm still the same as I was 2 weeks ago, so +/-0. Not too bad considering I haven't been as strict on myself.

Here's my tracking for yesterday...

Tuesday, September 14th...

Lunch: Tossed Salad w/ Chicken & shredded cheddar, RF Raspberry Vinaigrette (402)
Dinner: Hardee's Grilled Chicken Taco Salad (820)

Hello all!

Sorry I haven't been around much, still working on getting into a routine while Aubrey is at preschool. Haven't worked out every day, but have done my Biggest Loser on the Wii a few times, and yesterday went rolling around the neighborhood for a solid hour! I'm guessing about four miles maybe? Will get BL done today, but then will be down for a couple days. Going in tomorrow to have the biopsy done on my collapsed disc to make sure there's no sign of infection. Will try to get a weight done while I'm there as well.

My current goal: eat breakfast! I don't have time to eat before DD leaves, and I've got a bad habit of getting busy doing things and forgetting to eat, until 10:30, 11:00 rolls around and I'm starving! And naturally I turn to crappy foods instead of healthy stuff. I really would be in a lot better shape if I fed myself as well as I do my daughter. Why do we as parents do that???

Patrick...

By all means before and after us...I think it's a great idea anyway for all of us that are at least a few months in to get a recent pic...just to give one another an idea of the rate of progress we are currently enjoying!!

I think the ab goal is a great one. Who's laughing?? I'm hoping for some abs myself some day (girl ones, of course) but I'll take what I can get. I had some in high school...maybe they're still around. It'll be like looking for buried treasure!

Good luck on the homecoming project!! We're here with any ideas or support or whatever you might need!

Amanda...

I wouldn't mind sharing so much if he didn't get his OWN treats and then eat the ones for the rest of us. Case in point, the kid's ice cream is already all gone and they've only had a bit of it. :headache: All I can say is, he'd better be willing to share his "diet" treats with them if they want some. He got mango frozen yogurt bars (2 points) and I think they're  so that's why I'll be royally ticked if he eats my stuff. I'll just get nothing then.

My sister's husband eats up everything in the house so she's taken to "hiding" her diet treats in her underwear drawer. She totally has a secret stash!! :rotfl2: It's been a source of great amusement among the sisters in our family but I may have to follow her example soon...:rotfl:
