We are going to try Saratoga Springs for one night before switching over to the Riviera. I got a great annual passholder rate so figure with just one night would be good to test out a new resort.

I know the buildings are all spread out and we are probably going to arrive before our room is ready. Do we go to the main building to talk to someone about requesting bed rails? And storing our luggage. If our room is ready can we request the bed rails from our room or do we need to go to the main building?

Any room requests we should use? We booked a regular location not the premier one. Don’t really care about being near anything I’d just like quiet lol. We’ll have a car so not going to use the buses. Is there a restaurant there worth visiting? I’ve never been to this resort before.

If you like quiet, request Carousel or Grandstand close to the Treehouses.

Artist's Palette (quick service) is pretty good.

Luggage storage happens at the main building. I've never requested bed rails, but as with other housekeeping requests, you should be able to call from your room if you don't check in at the main building.

If you have a vehicle keep your luggage in your vehicle until you get to your room. The buildings are really spread out but parking is in front of/ near each building, so you will be able to drive to your building and unload close to your room/ building entrance. That's one of the main things we like about Saratoga, the close to building parking since we also drive and seem to have a lot of extra things from the kid in the car.

There is also a bus stop near the end of the Carousel building so that end is a bit noisy early in the morning and late at night.

We keep our luggage in the rental car when checking in at Saratoga and have usually been able to find a luggage cart near the elevators on the ground floor. Please return the cart when you are finished unloading. It’s annoying to have to search multiple floors looking for a luggage cart because guests have simply parked them outside their room or by the elevators of an upper floor when they finished using them.

Thanks everyone! Not sure if keeping things in our car will make sense if the room isn’t ready our plan is to go to animal kingdom and drive so it would be in the parking lot there. Is it a hassle to get our luggage from the main building if they are holding it?

If it were us, we'd store the bags with Bell Services and enjoy the day at the park. Then when we returned, if you've done online check-in, you can hopefully go right to your room and avoid the front desk again - then call Bell and just have them deliver the bags. It's so much less hassle.

Thanks I think that would probably work best for us I don’t like having a ton of stuff in our car at the parks

Also, we’ve had really good experiences with bell services at SSR regarding luggage transfers if you don’t want to move it yourself! We had them pick up from room and transfer to RIV before and the gentleman who picked our stuff up told us it was guaranteed by 4 but would probably be there earlier because they move so much luggage from SSR and I had sent it early. Our room was ready at RIV a little after 1 and our luggage was already there.

We stayed there in December and didn't have any luck finding a luggage cart. It would be nice to have a few luggage carts at each building since a lot of people have cars and can park by the building they're staying in.

They used to have them back in the day. In fact, if you look in each building, you can see the holding area that was purposely built for them by the stairs. However, sometime in the 2010-2015 range they were removed due to the contract with the Bell Services that required them to be removed (hence forcing the use of Bell Services). While I kind of get that for resorts like Aulani or RIV or VGF, the removal of luggage carts from SSR always seemed a bit short-sighted as if you are driving there, why would you want to pull up to the Carriage House to unload, then drive right in front of your unit and wait a few hours for your luggage.

I know that this has been brought up in threads prior, so I won't rehash it too much, but interestingly enough, there are complimentary luggage carts available for guests to use at both HHI and at VB.

HHI doesn't have a bell services team, have not stayed at VB but probably the same there as well. I agree, they should have luggage carts at each building at SSR for those of us who are driving and are happy to manage our own luggage.

Yes, Vero has Bell Services as well as carts available for Guest Use. I think that the contracts are different that WDW Bell Services, however.

I get the whole forcing Bell Services at tower like properties, but that model just doesn't work as well at SSR. We take a dolly or wagon with us each trip so that we can load/unload.

Fully agree, they should have carts at each building at SSR. Bell services is available if you need them. I'll make it a point to add this to surveys as they come.
