When can you start charging things to your magic band?

On an upcoming trip I have a split stay between Swan (which doesn't have MB charging capabilities) and WL. When can I start charging things to my magic band? I did online check-in for WL, and linked a credit card. So can I start charging things to my magic band on the morning I check-in at WL or do I have to wait til my room is ready (when I get the text message)?

My Parents just did this exact split stay about 3 weeks ago. When they did Online Check In for WL the put their estimated arrival at the resort as 7AM. They went right from the Swan to MK for a pre park opening ADR at 7:30. They were able to use their dining credits and charge the tip back to their WL room. They went and checked in at WL around Noon.

Now I don't know if they HAD to do it, but they had no issues by saying they would arrive that early.
