When can you add a room request when renting dvc?

Hi, we're heading to Bay Lake this August- I wanted to request the south side (we are in a 1 bedroom lake view), facing out to the marina area. I can't remember...as time gets closer can you request a certain area on your reservation? As of now, if I go into my reservation, it just has a choice of floors, but there isn't a place to ask for south side of the resort-I thought as time got closer, you can go into your reservation and write a few words for a request?? thanks!

Room requests have to be made by the owner of your points. As a renter, you can use the (lame) online check-in requests, but you cannot call MS to add custom requests, and there is no free text field.

When we make a request, we fax it over or call member services.

DVC has asked members not to bother faxing because they usually just throw them away.

The room request you want to make needs to be made through Member Services and those can only be made by the DVC member, so you need to contact the renting member and ask him to make the requests. As to when such requests can be made, it is anytime beginning with when you make the reservation but likely no later than a week to ten days before arrival to assure it gets passed on to the right people at the DVC resort before you arrive.
