When Can We Expect Our Docs?

We are sailing on the 12/16 Wonder and am wondering when our docs will arrive. We received them about 8 weeks out when we sailed on the Voyager of the Seas this summer. We are now 6.5 weeks away from this next cruise and are wondering what to expect.

Has anyone sailing in December received their docs yet? If so, what date are you sailing?

DCL usually starts mailing out it's Docs about 30 days before. So, most people receive them around 3 - 4 weeks out. If you booked with a TA, they go there first, so that might delay some things. We received our docs for the 11/6 cruise 3 weeks in advance, but for our cruise in 2002, we got them 2 weeks before.

We're sailing on the 12/4 Magic and received our docs last Tuesday. We booked through DCL so they sent them to us directly.

It can take longer if you use a TA. Some send them out immediately, while others are slower. When we booked on Expedia, they didn't send them out until 2 weeks before the cruise (even though they had received them a month earlier).

So it sounds like I can look for them anytime starting next week until 2 weeks before we leave. We are also sailing on the Inspiration out of Tampa the day after we get back from the Wonder. It will be interesting to see which set of docs we receive first - we did go through TAs for each of these but different ones.

Hi, Travellady!
We're on the same cruise and doing the parks after, too (me, DH, DD-8 and DS-1).

We received some brochures regarding merchandise and excursions right at the 60-day mark, but have not received our travel portfolio yet, either. I was assuming we'd get them by mid November. I'll be sure to let you know when we get ours. We booked on the Disney website, so we'll see if that makes any difference. On our first cruise, we got the docs at around the 30-day mark.

sdwjones- I believe I've seen your postings on our roll call thread. I'm anxiously waiting for this cruise - I need a vacation - and the docs will make me feel like it's not too far away. Do let me know when you get yours and I'll do the same.

I hear from other sources that the 7 night cruises get the doc's earlier than the 3 and 4 night cruises. I am leaving on 11/28 Wonder and haven't got anything yet...but the last 2 7 night cruises, got the doc's a month before....

This quote fits me to a tee! I really need a vacation as well, and getting the docs will make me feel like its almost here!

We are on the 12/5 Wonder and haven't rec'd anything yet, but I'm hoping it will be soon!!! We are friends w/our TA and she knows how 'anal' I am and she would never hold on to them!!!

Each agency sets their own policy. Dreams has the documents go directly to you, but other agencies prefer to get them first and forward them on.

Neither means that you'd get them sooner as mailings vary, but using a TA doesn't necessarily mean that it takes longer.

We are also sailing on the Wonder, Dec 16th and I just this morning, called both DCL and Dreams Unlimited, asking when we could expect our docs. Both told me they would be sent two weeks before sail date...... and I can't wait!! Even though we have done a 7 day Magic cruise before, as several others have already stated: "I need a vacation!!"
