Going to order tix from UT this week - do I get the number to link to MDE right away? Or have to wait until the tix arrive?

And once number linked, can I practice making selections to get used to the system? Or will have have to wait until 60 days out?

thanks!

With tickets from UT, I believe you have to wait until you get the actual tickets. They (reportedly) send out a email confirmation, but that doesn't contain the actual Disney Ticket ID Number(s).

Once you link the tickets, you can make FP+ selections for up to 30 days out since you will be considered an off-site guest until you are 60 days from your check-in date.

Thank you for your reply. So does that mean, lets say I get the tix 7/15, I can make "dummy" FP+ selections for 8/15 to get used to the system? I will not follow through with booking them, tho, do you kwim?

As far as I know, you can't play around with the FP system until your 60 day (or 30 day) time is reached. You can't see anything until it's time to make them.

Actually on 7/15, 30 days would be 8/14. You could go through the system to see what's available, just don't click the final button or cancel them after.

thank you, that was my assumption. If tix don't get activated until they are used, I figured that anyone could check 30 days out, since there is no way to track offsiters...

As soon as you have your tickets linked, you can practice for any day up to 30 days out. You can even see what's available tomorrow or the next week just to see how availability works that close to park entry.

Not true. As long as a person has a valid ticket linked to their account they can make (or do a trial run of) FP+ for up to 30 days out.

As soon as you get your tickets link them and play around. I even spent time checking for same day availability to get an idea of what I could get for a 4th fp etc throughout the day based on the park and time of day.

Note once you link the tickets they are non-returnable to UT. At least that is what I believe since you have the magic numbers off the back UT has no way to know if you have used them or not.

This is only the case if you have them through a Disney package/resort stay. Then they are linked to your arrival date. This is a downside but the 60 days is the plus side.
