When can I renew our DAS?

Okay, I haven't encountered this with the new system yet so bear with me.

We went to Disneyland last month (May) and got the DAS set up. We will be going again in July, about a week after DAS expires (60 days is the length right?)

So, to renew it, instead of doing it 30 days from our visit, do we have to wait until after our current DAS expires, aka doing it 10 days from our visit instead?

This was WDW, my daughter‘s DAS was going to expire a few days before our first park day.
I did the chat 30 days before our first park day. When I started the text portion of the chat, I typed in that our daughter had a valid DAS, but it would expire before our first park day.
The CM renewed it even though it wasn’t expired.
