When can I book?

I'm sorry to ask an ignorant question but I'm new to DVC and this would be my first booking.

When i bought I bought 130 points and they banked them immediately for me, so they'll become available feb 1 with 2011's points available Feb 1. So I'll have a total of 260 points available.

However, do I need to wait until feb 1 to book? I was looking to go in September at my home resort so my 11 months would be coming up soon and i didn't know if I could book knowing the points would become available or if I had to wait until they were actually available....

You do not have to wait for your Use Year month to come up in order to book. You can always call to book as early as 11 month before check in date wanted at your Home Resort & 7 months before at any other DVC resort. MS will 'see' that you have points available to use for dates you want to book : banked Feb 2010 UY points and Feb 2011 UY points are usable for travel from 2/1/2011 through 1/31/2012 and so would cover the trip you are planning for Sept 2011.

This is a point that confuses many new members. Right now your account has February 2010, 2011, 2012 & 2013 points. So you can book reservations now and the points used will be based on the date of stay. So you could call today for a stay starting 9/8/2011 at your home resort, 2011 would be considered current year points (plus the 2010 banked) and you could also borrow 2012.
