When can I book?

Hi everyone

I'm hoping to go back in January 2009 (if I can wait that long!!!!).

What I was wondering is - when do the airlines release the flights for this date? I will be flying from Belfast or Dublin so it will probably be FlyGlobespan - am I best booking these flights as soon as they become available or are there any advantages to leaving it closer to my departure date?

I think you would really have to wait until around 11 months before to get your flights.

We are going October 2008 and the flights are not up yet !!

It's only the scheduled carriers which can't be booked further than 11 months out. It's currently possible to book FlyGlobespan online up until 31 October, 2008. You can only fly with them to Orlando from Belfast, not from Dublin (I think).

Hi Tracey,

We booked Flyglobespan for July 08 back in June 07 only a day or so after they were released. That worked out 13mths in advance. If I was you I would register for their emails as if you don't get in when they are released the prices go up - that has happened to ours but luckily we got in quick. Mind you it cost us a couple of hundred after pondering for a day

Can't yet comment on how good FGS will be - lots of adverse comments but I have spoken to a few locals (also in NI) and they say they are fine with the best bit being direct from Belfast I think just don't expect much and we might be pleasantly surprised.

The only other option direct from Belfast is Airtours/MyTravel but that will limit you to either 1 or 2 weeks and I don't think the prices are that great

Be sure to check out Aer Lingus direct from Dublin - will really depend on where you are in the province whether you want to drive down. It's the drive back up I didn't like the sound of - can never keep my eyes open long enough when we hit the UK again no matter how much I have slept on the flight
