When buying tix at gate, when do you make FP+, then or in park?

Purchased two day base tickets via Ebates/Orbitz special for use as of March 20, actually planning to go to the MK/AK the 21st and 22nd. Planning on going to will call the evening of the 20th to pick up tickets for RD next morning.

As part of picking up my tickets on the 20th for the next day, will I be asked to make my FP+ choices then? Or the next morning?

Any advice as to best park to drive to to get the tix the evening before would be great! Planning to have DH drop me off and wait or circle around....

This off-site FP+ things has my nerves frayed! In the past totally could make my plans but the unknown of the whole kiosk, FP+ lines is really stomping my pre-trip buzz.

There are no kiosks for booking FP+ outside the parks, so you'll have to wait until you enter a park the next day.

After you enter the park (next day) you go to a FP+ Kiosk, make your selections and do the rest of the day normally. Really not a big deal and doesn't take anywhere near the time it did to go to each location to get a FP after your time limit. You get all three at once, nothing more to do then to take a few minutes to figure out where you need to be and plan accordingly.

I had great luck with it... hopefully it works that way for everyone. When you do pick up your tickets as for the FP+ planning sheet to take with you to the park. That will greatly speed up the process. Mark in your 3 favorites and a few optional if those are not available.

Next day... repeat the process for whatever park you are going too!

Is this planning sheet available online? My daughter is visiting next week, has her tickets in hand, staying offsite, and this would help her immensely.
