When are your schools out in Feb? please help

There seems to be some conflicting answers on this and I'm getting confused, lol. Canadian schools are not out at all in Feb.

Please do the poll and help me and a few others that have been asking so we can get a better grip on the crowds.

I'm from southern New England and we have off Feb 20-25 this year. That means northern New England will have the week of Feb 28-Mar 4 for their school vacation.

If it helps, you can always look up each state and find the link for public schools. They usually have the school calendar posted.

I work at a Canadian school and we're out the last week of Feb. I've gone two years in a row at that time - one year it wasn't crowded at all and last year it was semi-crowded.

We are in NH and fit none of those choices. Our school is out Feb. 28-March 4, so we're really having our "February vacation" during the first week in March!

Why are schools out in Feb, princess pooh? Do they also get spring break off in March? I had no idea there were any Canadian schools out in Feb, first time I've heard of that.

Tammi, thx, but that would take forever, this seems much easier, lol.

There are a few schools in montreal that are off in Feb. instead of March. I'm not sure why

Our schools are out for 2 days, Feb 7-8. I live in Louisiana so Mardi Gras is big over here. Lots of parades, etc during that time. We don't celebrate Mardi Gras so it's just 2 days of vacation for us, which makes it a four day weekend! I'm not sure what other states celebrate this.

We only have President's Day off. I have also lived in Virginia and Florida and have never heard of a February break. We have Spring Break at the end of March.

In Upstate NY we always have a week off over Presidents day. They considered dropping it a few years ago but there was such an uproar that they didn't.

If you lived here you would see why. By the end of Feb. so many kids have flus and colds it is wonderful for everyone to have a week off to recoup. Winter can be very long and since we go to school until the end of June we get a winter and spring break.

Just the 21st here in Atlanta. I grew up in Michigan though and we always had a week off in February deemed "Mid Winter Break." We would also get off a week for Spring Break corresponding around Easter.

We live in Michigan and my kids have the week of February 14-18 off. However, one of the cities near us has the following week off and another city only has a long weekend off for President's Day. I am not sure why each school district is different - I think it has to do with the teachers' contracts.

I'm from central Indiana - we only get Presidents Day (1 day) off. The schools here have spring break the last week of March or the first week of April.

We have the week of President's Day in February, the week in April connected to Patriot's Day (I know only in New England), but we do not get a week around Easter. Schools will be in session until at least mid-June, longer if there have been a lot of snow days.

You don't have to worry about us in February--we'll be on the Eastern DCL cruise instead!

YOu didn't post an option for the NH schools.... my kids "February" vacation is the week of February 28 - March 4... we always tend to be one week after Massachusetts.........P

Edited to add.... guess I should have read the other replies before posting.... several others stated the same as me! ....Sorry for being redundant.

If it helps at all our kids also have "April" vacation (this year from April 25 - April 29.... usually Massachusetts is one week before us on this also...............P
