When are the new AK restaurants opening?

Curious about the Yak or whatever it is and the Tusker House switching over to a Donald character buffet? (Is this all three meals or just breakfast?)

i believe the date being tossed around for Y&Y is Oct 8.

the Tusker House change is that it's going to a buffet TS location for all 3 meals, but only breakfast will be a character meal. that's in mid-Nov, not sure of the date offhand, Nov 11?

Construction on Yak and Yeti restaurant continues. To fit in with Anandapur, the fictional village that is home to Expedition Everest, the restaurant will be themed as a rural village in the Himalayan foothills. The pan-Asian establishment will house both a table service restaurant that seats 300 and a quick-service eatery that can hold 200 customers. The restaurant was announced in February 2006, and is set to open October 8, 2007.

I called this morning to change a couple of my ressie times for my ADR's in December. I am holding out for the Donald's Safari Breakfast and when I ask the CM, she said that they were not taking ADR's yet and I should check back in August. No way am I going to wait till August . I am going to call once per month to keep checking. I also ask about Yak & Yeti, same thing. But she did tell me that Yak & Yeti is going to offer a CS and a TS, so instead of using my TS for Yak & Yeti, I am going to to the CS this time and if I LOVE it, I will schedule a TS for the next time I go.

I would like to book Yeti for an October trip and Donald's for early January. Trying to hold out...

I wish I knew if Yeti is gonna be safe for nut allergies... I'm guessing not. I would like to eat there when we're down in October w/o our girls.

I agree; I'm going to try again next week. I would think that this will be a hard one to get if they don't open for ADRs real soon.

I heard that the Yak and Yeti will be run by Landry's Co. rather than Disney itself. Landry's includes the Rainforest Cafe chain which is not on DDP so it was thought that Y&Y would not be on DDP either. I just have this feeling that since it is so late in the year they wouldn't include it in the dining plan until next year either way.

STILL NOT TAKING RESERVATIONS FOR DONALD'S SAFARI BREAKFAST, AGAIN I WAS TOLD SHOULD BE AUGUST. I WILL TRY AGAIN LATER THIS MONTH. I ALSO ASK ABOUT YAK & YETI. NO NEW INFO, I REMEMBER READING THAT THEY WILL NOT BE PART OF THE DDP, BUT THE CM COULDN'T CONFIRM OR DENY THAT INFORMATION EITHER.

1) Yes, it is - because it inside a park versus outside a park.
2) No, it isn't - because the other Landry's restaurants are not DDP.
3) Maybe, either way - because no one has yet annouced it.

I just saw on Allears.net that Yak&Yeti will now not open until Nov14.

I hope that does not mean that the new Donald Breakfast will be delayed also. I was hoping it would be completed a week or two earlier for our Nov8-Nov13 visit
