When are new refillable mug designs released?

We got mugs last June and are visiting again next month and my kids are wondering if we are going to get the same mugs as last time or if there is a new design yet, does anyone know?

Not sure exactly when, but in the past they would start putting them out once the resorts have sold all of the old ones. Some resorts may have them earlier then others. I'm guessing when we are there, they will still have the old ones still (we have the old ones from our May trip), but you never know

I am hoping they have new ones in the next 3 weeks at ASSp! We have 4 from the last trip, and I love the mugs for at home and camping!

Since they have not really changed the theme from Memories (OMDD is a temporary promotion not a theme) I'm willing to bet that they will not be changing thier mugs.

I hope they release a new design soon! I'm leaving in 27 day (yay!) and I greatly DISLIKE the current mug design. I hope they have something with more classic (adult) colors like the red, yellow, and black ones they had a couple of years ago. Really - I'm going in February - I don't really want a mug with Disney characters lounging by a POOL, let alone 3 of them!

They had the red, black and yellow mugs for over 3 years. I seriously doubt we will be getting any new mugs any time soon. The only way I see it as a possibility is if they decide to install the new chipped mug dispensers (that were tested at ASSports) into all of the resorts. Then perhaps we might see a change.

We get 7 every year....so the repeat designs really get old. I need to load some of them up and donate them to a church or something for their kitchen. We have way too many.

We have stacks of mugs and it's just the 2 of us. They're almost all the same.

I think the next time they change them will be when they finally switch over to that bar code thing so you can't reuse mugs from past trips. Unless they scrapped plans for that. I'm out of the loop.

The last few designs have lasted 2 years - the red/yellow/black "celebrate" design was 2009 & 2010, and before that the blue & white "year of a million dreams" design was available for all of 2007 & 2008. The current pool party design was introduced for 2011 so I don't think we'll see a new one until early 2013.

For some reason I thought that they'd already implemented the bar code mugs into several resorts. So, is that still just being tested at one spot?

The first year, the red,black & yellow mugs were different than the latter years. The first year the print design was onlly half-way down and the bottom half was indented and white. Then they changed them to tapered mug with the design printed all the way down to the bottom of the mug. We have both.

They actually changed them to the tapered design after only a few months. In summer of '09 we had the tapered ones...same as '10.

I don't think there will be new ones any time soon. I sure hope I'm wrong, but I'm thinking not till 2013. We were so happy last year to see the new mugs... but yep, are sick of them already, lol!
we go 2-3 times a year, do split stays with deluxe dining.. so keep getting mugs for each resort we stay. Last summer did 5 resorts.... so 4 mugs for my family x 5 resorts.... 20 mugs! So we always come home with a lot of mugs.

This year filled them with christmas candy and tied bows to them and candy canes and gave them to many teacher aides my special needs son has... really, smething little for the many aides and speech and occupational therapist... adds up quick, so mugs it was! figured everyone could use a good mug! Buying teacher gifts adds up quick... and then to buy for every aide and all my son has... thought the mugs worked out fine to have a little something for them.

Another year did the same thing with all the red/black ones we had and filled them up with candy and gave them to like every relative we have, lol!

So yeah, am ready for new ones! Wish they were yearly.... wish for some resort specific ones, too!

besides the mugs... I LOVE the cups - toy story and tink they have been having... that kids can get in restaurants that come with the light up figure. I take over the cups when we come home, lol.... drinking out of one now! Me and a disney cup and my iced tea when on the computer and I am all good to go! But wish they'd change those designs, too!
