My family and I went on our very first WDW trip the first week of February and had the best time of our lives. :Pinkbounc We are planning another trip to WDW around the same time this coming year. The only part of our trip that was frustrating were the hoards of cheerleaders. I have to say that they were all very polite, sweet girls, but they were absolutely everywhere! All Star Movies was nearly overrun. Between the cranked up music at the hotel and the large lines for buses, and attractions we would like to plan our next trip around them. We found that the second day of our trip nearly all of them checked out, just to be followed by another huge group of them a couple of days later. Is there a way to find out when these large groups will be at WDW?

We always go in Feb and have never found the cheerleaders to be a problem. We have never stayed at the Allstars though. I think if you stay at a deluxe or CSP you won't encounter them at the hotel. Most of the time they are at the competition and not in the parks.

You can check on the Disney site under Wide World of Sports to find out what is scheduled. I think you find cheerleading under "other sports."

They are always there in Feb. They stay at the Allstars and, I believe, CSR. I stayed at the AKL this year and didn't see a single cheerleader at the hotel.

I know they were there when we went in early December one time. They are the reason that I am forever grateful that I have a son!!! I even turned to my husband and said "Thank god I don't have a girl!" Sorry, but I'll take my son with his temper tantrums over the whining and giggling any day!

We have been there when there have been cheerleaders, also when there were school sports teams and we happen to be there when grad nights were going on.
The only real problem we ever had was with a sports group. We were going back to AS Sports from DTD. There is only 1 bus for all 3 AS. When we got to the bus stop, there were people already waiting so we waited at the end of the benches. When the bus got there, people started getting on and we got in line. All of a sudden, a big group of kids came running up along side the bus between it and the line and were determined they were going to get on the bus. They even tried to get in front of us. My DH moved to block them off and when I got close to the door I reached my arm out and cut them off. I let all the others that had been there before us get on and then I got on. Two kids did scoot by my DH but the rest got on after.
An elderly lady saw me standing and put her grandson on her lap and held the seat for me. She told me she didn't want any of the kids to get it. She originally offered it to my DH, but he told me to sit. Our DD had made it on ahead of us and got one of the last seats.

I have seen some young kids give up seats for people with young children or elderly people to sit down. Others can be really obnoxious.

They are always there the first couple weeks in December.... They are also joined by hoards of boys overloaded with testosterone. To be very honest they are just as bad as the girls if not worse.... They were extremly loud, rude. Breakfast time in the food court at POR was just a nightmare........

Can you tell me more about the groups in early December? Do they stay at the All-Stars too, and did you have any problems with these groups in the parks?

Actually the parks are not a problem it is the resorts..... They stay at the All Stars and then when those are filled they spill over to the moderates where we were staying..... If you have little ones you really have to watch it at the pools because they are over taken be teens. So basically it is the pools and the food courts that we really noticed them.
Don't get me wrong I am not anti-teens, I wish I were one again, and before I know it mine will be one too. It's just that the ratio of chaperones to teens is way off balance so they basically think they do not have to show any manners.
Again it is not all of them.

Pop Warner Nationals are usually the first week in Dec. They usually stay at All Star resorts............

AllStar National for Cheereladers and Dance Team are usually in Feb. and March.

Although MANY complain about cheerleaders and their obnoxious behavior, WDW continues to entertain these groups. Most compete at the WWoS complex and MGM usually hosts a night for them.

Another huge competition for AllStars is Easter week at the Gaylord hotel. There are about 1000 competitors for that one!!

Their time is usually limited in the parks because they are too busy preparing and competiting.

As a mom of 2 AllStar cheerleaders, stay away from the value and moderate resorts if you can afford to...............

Pop Warner competition for the cheerleaders starts on Dec 6 this year and also they have football players in National games also.....so there are boys and girls. Being the mom and coach of 2 cheerleaders the work, sweat, and time these kids put into getting to Nationals is unbelievable. However this does not give them an excuse to be rude or obnoxious!! Yes there are not enough chaperones on these trips, because usually the parents can only afford to send the kids. They usually do not find out if they are going to Nationals until the weekend before Thanksgiving when they have regional championships....so only a week to raise funds. (Unless you have been in it awhile and set aside some funds prior). They have already got blocks of rooms set aside at the All Stars for this competition and if they fill up they do usually go to the POR, POFQ, CBR. I guess I could see how this could irritate some people, cheerleaders are loud!!!! But I love them anyway!!
