I have read comments that the busy times for DVC are not the same as the busy times fro WDW. When are the busy times for DVC? Knowing this would help me in planning future vacations. Thanks.
Probably the busiest time for DVC that is a low time for WDW is the beginning of December. This is due to a number of factors including; holiday decorations, lowest point time of year and annual meetings of the associations are held then.
October and November continue to get busier. Low points and Food and Wine. They are busier for non-DVCers, too - as people have figured out that the weather is wonderful.
The traditional low seasons of January and September seem to still be unpopular at DVC as well.
Someone on the Theme Parks board recently posted a copy of an email that they received from a WDW rep in response to questions about crowd levels. The message broke-down the year into three categories which were basically High, Moderate and Low Attendance. I was surprised to read that they now had the Thanksgiving to mid-December categorized as "Moderate."
I think people are starting to catch-on to December touring. Many (myself included) commented on how crowds this past December seemed larger than expected...or at least larger than in past years. Some theorized that it might have been due to hurricane cancellations earlier in the year. But, it sounds like Disney expects the trend to continue.
Either that or DVC membership is just growing too darn fast.
