When are annual passes activated?

We're planning on taking two days of our Florida trip in December to go to Sea World, and we'd like to buy annual passes because we'll be going back in April next year, plus for the free parking and discounts. If I order the passes online, which will be the expiration date, one year from when I buy them or one year from when we first use them? I'd like to go ahead and order them but if they'd be expiring in August next year I'll wait till December to buy.

If you order them online and have them shipped to you they will be activated as of the day of shipment. If you order online and pick them up at the park the day u visit they will be activated that day.
Hope that helps. We ordered platinum passes in Nov for our trip in dec and paid to have them shipped and activated.
A few years before that we went to the park with one day tickets and the end of the day we upgraded them to annual passes used them a few more times on that trip and the following year.

So if I order my Annual Passes on-line and choose to print at home they are activated when I buy/print them?

I thought they would activate when I scan them to enter the park?

If you order your annual passes online and choose to print them from home, they are active the day you order them. So if you bought the annual passes today (9/10/14), but your first visit to the park with them was not until 9/20/14, they would still expire 9/10/15.

Also, once you redeem your vouchers (which you get in your order confirmation) at the park, you can have access to all the pass member offers on the pass member section of the website.

Disney its activated the first day you enter and convert to a hard pass. If they do activate when you print you might be able to get the AP hotel discounts
