When are A-level results published each year?

OK, so I'm in very tentative trip planning mode for summer 2009. This is the year that DS will be sitting his A-levels and I don't want to be away for his results. So does anyone know if there is a rule for the results date? So far it seems to be the 3rd Thursday of August which would make it the 12th in 2009, but that seems really early.

It's not a problem as I've still got a long time to work out my plans but it would be nice to know.

P.S We have to go during school holidays because I work in a school and DD will still be at school.

Thanks, that was what I was afraid of as the 12th is right in the middle of the school hols. I'd like to be around afterwards in case he needs to deal with university clearing.
