When and where to make DDP reservations?

I have our vacation booked for next July, but will be calling at my 7month out window to try to switch reservations. I booked my home resort ressies on the DVC website, but I didn't see anywhere on there where I could add the DDP to my reservation. Should I just wait to add DDP when I try to get the reservation switched when I call in December, or is there actually a place on the DVC website to add the DDP to your reservation? I see they have the ME option and the grocery list, why not the DDP?

Do you just always have to add this over the phone with MS? Thanks!

You add it over the phone b4 your trip. You pay for it when you check in.

You actually just sent an email request to MS when you "booked" on the website. I haven't done that before, so I don't know if you could have added a comment or note requesting the DDP. But it doesn't matter - you have lots of time.

As disneynutz posted, you only need to call MS to add it. You can do that as late as 3 or 4 days before you arrive. Since you hope to stay at a non home resort, you can just wait until after your "final" reservation is set. No reason to add it now.
