Wheelchairs available?

im taking my mom on a 3 night cruise, she has bad arthritis and needs to sit often, she does not have a wheelchair or anything but would need some help with walking from the ship to the CC shuttle,
Does anyone know if Disney offers any assistance with situations like hers? Maybe a golf cart ride to the tram or something like that

There are beach wheelchairs available first-come/first-served at Castaway Cay. But if you are looking for something to get from the ship's ramp to the tram, I suggest you speak to Guest Relations onboard to see what they can arrange. You could also contact the DCL Special Services department at (407) 566-3602 to discuss what they may be able to do. In general, guests must provide their own wheelchairs or mobility devices if needed, though there are limited ones available for emergency use. You can rent one; in Port Canaveral I know that Brevard Medical and Walker Mobility both deliver rentals to the port, as does Special Needs at Sea in most U.S. ports.

There are wheelchairs available on Deck 1 (I can't remember if it's midship or forward) and I believe you could borrow one to take off the ship, I know you can certainly use them on the ship but it's on a first come, first served basis. If you got down there early on CC day I am sure you would get one. You just take it, nobody checks them in and out, and then return it when you are done. If you are looking to get help other than a wheelchair then you will need to ask guest services.

On Castaway Cay you can get the "Island Taxi" from the ship, which is a golf cart and they will take you all the way to the beach without getting
on the tram. You ask the cast member to call for one. We did wait 15 minutes for it to arrive but it took us all the
way to the beach by Pelican Pointe .

You may want to either rent or borrow a wheelchair at home or purchase an inexpensive one (Walgreen's, CVS, Walmart, etc. all sell them for not too much money). When travelling, you can never tell how far you'll have to walk. It's much more convenient to have your own.

I have a couple of family members who are, more or less, reluctant to use a wheelchair for various reasons, including "not wanting to be a burden". I always rent one for each of them anyway when we travel together, including for our cruises. Even though we sometimes don't use them at all, and even may end up carrying them around all day invane, they literally can save the day when they are needed. I used Brevard Medical last year and that worked out very well: the collapsible wheelchairs were in our rooms when we arrived and we just dropped them off at guest services the last evening.
