Hello everyone! I have a question regarding getting on the shuttle buses from hotels to the parks. My concern is that I might end up having to wait extra time for a bus that would have a spot for a wheelchair. Has anyone ever just taken the folded up wheelchair on the bus? I can definitely stand up for the ride to the park from Port Orleans, and wondering if another member of my party could just fold up the chair and carry it on so we wouldn't have to potentially have to wait for a spot on the bus to secure me in the wheelchair. Thanks!

You can take a folded up wheelchair on the bus.; many people do.
I’d still suggest still waiting in the marked wheelchair spot (rectangle painted in the ground) so you can bring it in using the back door.
Even if the driver doesn’t put down the ramp, it’s a much straighter shot getting on than the front door. And wheelchairs are heavy and bulky. Just let the driver know you plan to fold it

Wonderful, thank you Sue!

We took my parents in wheelchairs. My dad needed to stay in his most of the time. My mom didn’t need to stay in it on the bus. I would roll my dad up and onto the bus and he got strapped in and then my daughter would push the empty chair up the ramp and my mom would walk up and sit and my daughter would hold the folded chair in front of them. Then they let other people board via the front doors. One trip there was also a scooter who was boarded and strapped down after my dad but before my mom or maybe they did the scooter first then my dad and then my mom. I believe they shuffled the order in line some to accommodate everyone. We never had to wait for anywhere bus luckily with our wheelchairs staying at Music

If you decide to stand on the bus, just beware of some of the turns the buses take as they can be really sharp without warning.

Oooh, ok good to know, thanks! Hard to say where I will be in my rehab a month from now, but I will keep that in mind.
