Hi there. We are busy planning our very first trip to DL in Dec 13. Our daughter is in a wheelchair. As we are traveling from Australia, we are anticipating a very tired family when we arrive at LAX. We are staying at DH. What is the best way to get from LAX to DH, with a wheelchair? We can collapse the wheelchair and she can sit in car seat and I think I like the idea of private transport. Anyone know of anything that would be suitable? Thanks so much.

In the United States we have a American Disability Law. Which provides transportation of people of varies different disabilities.

I would contact Disney directly by email on their website DISNEYPARKS.COM for assistants In this matter.:grouphug:

When I went, I used Super Shuttle. It was prompt both coming and going!

I use Super Shuttle (www.supershuttle.com) and can specify that I need an accessible van. You need to give them the flight information including arrival and departure times. I have never had any problem with them, and they are at many airports (including LAX).

I would definitely use SuperShuttle.

Though the ADA does provide laws regarding transportation for those with disabilities, it generally does not provide for those coming from out of the area. Even though I live in Orange County and use a wheelchair, I had to get approval from the local transit authority to use paratransit.

Also, LAX and Disneyland are in two separate counties, so there is no public transportation between them anyway. I doubt you would want to try public transit after being on such a long plane ride anyway.

We arranged through Disney to use the Super Shuttle. It's part of our package.
They have an accessible van - yours for the asking. :thumbsup2

We leave on Sat - July 6th. I will write if there is anything else you have to know. So far - I know I have to call them to specify the handicapped van, and I received two tickets for the Super Shuttle - from LAX to DLand, and the return trip from DLand to LAX.
The CM also stated that the trip is about an hour in the van.

I'm getting excited! I'll bet you are, too! :goodvibes
