We will be renting a wheelchair for my FIL on our Christmas trip. He is ambulatory, but at 77 years old, not as spry as he once was.

My question/concern is, when you park your wheelchair, are there any steps that can be taken to ensure that someone doesn't take it while you are on a ride or in an attraction?

Thanks

Wheelchairs can be taken all the way through most queues, and will be left at the point where you enter the ride vehicle. Depending on the set-up of the ride, it may be moved to where you'll exit the ride vehicle so it's ready for you. But generally not touched otherwise. I suppose it's possible someone else might take it but rather unlikely.

Now, if you park it outside the attraction with the strollers, one popular suggestion is to tie a colorful scarf or ribbon to make it stand out as yours.

Enjoy your vacation!

I would just take the wheel chair on the ride with you if it is a ride that you must transfer for the CM will take it to the unload area for you when you get there

I would bring the wc into the lines with you - some of them are quite long and this will let him sit if he needs to. The CMs will keep the wheelchair waiting for you at the exit, so it will be ready, and more secure than leaving it outside.

One important thing to remember is that you are not allowed to lock anything, including wheelchairs and strollers, to rails or anything in the parks. CMs often need to move them and if it is locked to a railing, they will get bolt cutters to move it.
