Is it possible to have a wheelchair to rent from disney for the duration of your stay? I.e At the hotel when we check in and everything? And then returned when our stay was done?

I don't think WDW does length of stay wheelchair or ECV rentals, but there are several off-site companies that do and will even deliver to your resort.

For more information check out this thread on DISabilities:Post #2 is about wheelchair and ECV rentals.

If you are staying on Disney property, the hotels usually have wheelchairs for use but they are on a first come first serve. So inquire when you get to your hotel. As for the ECV, they do not rent them but there are some good companies in and around the Orlando area that will rent ECV long-time and even deliver and pick up to the hotel. Just look in the yellow pages. The cost is comparable to what you would spend if you rented one at the parks and in some cases, even less.

NO (capitalized intentionally, for emphasis ;)) need to look in any yellow pages. Just see the FAQ sticky at the top of this forum.

::yes::
the companies that are listed in the disABILITIES FAQs thread in post number 2 are the ones that DIS posters have recommended frequently over the years.

As was already posted, your resort MAY have a wheelchair to loan, but they can't be reserved ahead of time and there is no guarantee they will have one. People have posted a variety of experiences with getting one from the resort. Some have had no problem, but quite a few people have posted that there either were no wheelchairs or the available ones were not in very good condition. So, if you do plan to try that, it's a good idea to take along some of the phone numbers from the FAWs thread.

But it IS possible for the wheelchair, rented from outside of Disney, to be brought to the resprt for when we get there?

Yes. All companies will deliver to the resort. Randy's Mobility will deliver ECVs in person; I don't know about their wheelchair policy.

ALL of the companies listed in the disABILITIES FAQs thread that rent wheelchairs and ECVs will deliver and pick up from your resort. The full information is in post #2 of the FAQs thread.

Thank you so much! My grandmother is having knee surgeyr and obviously won't be up to waltzing around the parks. Thanks for all the help!
