We will need to rent a wheelchair for my MIL who has two hip replacements and is also blind. I am wondering if it's better to rent a chair for her each day (using length-of-stay at $8 per day), or if it might be simpler to rent a chair from a private company for the duration of our trip.

We're staying in a vacation home rental just off 192 . . . . anyone have any experience with using a private company? Also, if someone were to take her chair while we're riding an attraction, would we be liable for it?

Anyone have any experiences to share?

If you check the disABILITIES FAQs thread, there are links to a number of off-site places that people have rented ECVs and wheelchairs from.
One big advantage to renting from off-site is that you will have it for her use where ever you go, not just in the parks. If you decide to go shopping or to DTD, you won't have to worry. Also, it saves a step when you get to the parks; no waiting in line to get the wheelchair.

The particular rental company that you rent from can answer your questions about liability. They should have insurance that would cover things like that and many people would also be covered under their home owner's or renter's insurance.

Thanks, Sue . . . I'm heading over to the disABILITIES FAQ's right now!
