Hi folks, I thought I would ask the people who frequent this board for some help seeing you helped make my dad's WDW vacation such a big success.

We would like to get my dad a wheelchair lift for the car. Currently my mother must lift the chair by hand in order to gte it into the trunk, obviously not a powered wheelchair. Can anyone point me toward a link where I can get some information on such a lift?

Thanks,

Go to www.bruno.com Bruno makes a lot of mobility equpment, including the "Outsider" which will mount on the back of a car (or other vehicle). Note that you need a fairly large car and have to get a "Class 3" trailer hitch installed, which is normally done by either a car dealership, a large camping supplier, or possibly a large U-hhaul facility. (I think that actually attaches to the frame of the car.) Bruno will provide you with a list of dealers. I think the cost of the lift is about $1,000, and installation (wiring, etc) will run about another $250. Use of the Outsider allows you access to the trunk in addition to carrying the ECV. I have heard that it may be possible to get by with a Class 2 hitch, but it is not recommended. Also, the reason you need a big car is you have the weight of the lift itself as well as the ECV behind the rear bumper, and it does terrible things to the car's center of gravity.
