Wheelchair friendly?

We are considering a ONE day visit to one of the parks at Universal. Just found out tonight that we may need to head to Orlando for a few days later this month, so not much time to plan. We cannot stay on-site due to costs for the space we require with the wheelchair, equipment, need for a refrigerator etc.

Is either park any more friendly for guests who need to stay in wheelchairs? Are there any rides at Universal where guests can stay in wheelchairs? I know NOTHING about Universal, really. If there is a thread that I haven't found related to this, please redirect me there, this is all last minute and I haven't had any time to really consider this. We have been do Disney, but with only one day thought we'd get a taste of Universal (I realize we cannot do everything, even in just one park).

Here's the info from the website:

For your enjoyment and convenience, Universal Orlando's shopping and dining facilities are wheelchair accessible. Also, our outdoor stage shows have areas reserved for guests with disabilities. These areas are clearly marked with the International Symbol of Accessibility.

In addition, all the queues are accessible to guests using wheelchairs (with the exception of Pteranodon Flyers® at Universal's Islands of Adventure). There are specific boarding requirements and accommodations for those using wheelchairs at each attraction. In all cases, if you are capable of transferring to the ride vehicle's seating (either by yourself or with the assistance of another person in your party), you may transfer.

Additionally, certain attractions are capable of allowing guests to remain in their standard wheelchair throughout. For a list of all attractions and their specific requirements and accommodations, please consult Universal Orlando's Rider's Guide for Rider Safety and Guests with Disabilities (I've given the link to that in bold below}.

NOTE: We apologize, but due to their dramatic motion, none of the ride vehicles at Universal Orlando will accommodate Electric Convenience Vehicles (ECV's) or electric wheelchairs. At those rides which can accommodate standard wheelchairs, guests may transfer from their ECV or electric wheelchair into a standard wheelchair, which can be provided at each location.

These are the ride specifications for those in wheelchairs:

Hi! We visited Universal for the first time last Summer and found it to be very wheelchair friendly. My son was in a wheelchair for much of the trip due to his Osgood-Schlatters (though he can get in and out)... everyone was very helpful and the lines are great.

Hope you have a wonderful trip!
