Wheelchair entrances for attractions?

Hello! I am planning a day trip to Disneyland in a couple of weeks and my mom is coming along. We'll be renting a wheelchair for her in Disneyland, and I'm wondering if anyone knows of a website that might list where you go to board rides with someone in a wheelchair- for example, what entrances we'd use? I thought I saw something like that a long time ago, but I'm not sure. If there isn't any guide like that out on the web, are there usually cast members at the ride entrances that can tell us which way to go in?

Also, one more thing...we found out that Downtown Disney has no wheelchair rentals, and my mom wants to try out the Rainforest Cafe for dinner that night. As I recall, that place is pretty far back into DD and it would be hard on her to walk that distance. Would it be easier to maybe take the monorail from inside Disneyland and get off at DD? Is the station drop off point close to the Rainforest Cafe?

Thanks for any advice!

Amy

Hi Amy!

You may want to post this on our DISabilities board too, there are lots of helpful folks there who can tell you about navigating Disneyland in a wheelchair.

The Downtown Disney stop for the monorail is very close to the Rainforest Cafe, so that is definitely a good option for you.

For most queues the CM who is at the entrance to the attraction will tell you what to do regarding entry. I know that Disneyland also issues special assistance passes, and again, I'm sure the folks on the DISabilities board can help.

Enjoy your trip! :)

Here's a site that should help you. It's from the official Disney site. If the link doesn't work (there's sometimes trouble linking to the official Disney site), just go to www.disney.com , chose Disneyland and then click on Guest Services.

If you link on the icons that look like they will be another link, all you get is a definition of what the icon means. Instead, go alllll the way to the bottom of the page and you will find a pretty plain link that says: "For information about Services for Guests with Disabilities at Disneyland® Resort, click here."
Clicking there will bring up a copy of the actual Guidebook for Guests with Disabilities for the Disneyland and California Adventure that you can print or save on your computer.
As you page thru, you will find a list of rides where people with wheelchairs just wait in the regular queque. After that, there is a list of individual rides with a description of the attraction and any special instrcutions.

Michelle and Sue- thank you both very much for the help! Sue, I went to the link you provided and found the guidebook, it was exactly what I was looking for. If I have any other questions, I'll be sure to post them on the Disabilities forum, as well. Thanks again to you both!
