Hello all! We are currently trying to plan a family vacation (10 in all) that will include my 75 year old dad and 66 year old mom (at time of travel). Both are wheelchair inclusive and will be getting ECV's. Last time my parents went to Disneyland with us (2014) (family of four) my mom was the only one in a wheelchair. The CM's did allow our whole party (my family of four plus my dad) to ride with her when it was time to ride. Do they still do this? There are only a couple rides they can do (HM, POTC, JC, and some of the dark fantasy land rides). I would love if are whole family (8 plus 2 in ECV's) can experience the rides at the same time. Any insight or tips would greatly be appreciated! We are going end of June and are so very excited to spend what is possibly the last California vacation together as a big family.

If a CM says no split the ECVs up and do half the fam with one and half with the other at the rides that require a return time for WC/ECV and then all come back at the same time. You may not all be in the same ride vehicle ride but you’ll be pretty close and you’ll be in line together.

Thanks for the insight! That definitely sounds like a good plan!

Note that the Jungle Cruise wheelchair boats can only accommodate one wheelchair at a time. There are two accessible boats, but both are not always in service simultaneousl.

Remembwe, PoC can require a fairly significant step down and step up into and out of the boats There is no wheelchair boat.

Peter Pan‘s moving walkway may not be easily stopped for boarding/disembarking..

In most cases, your entire group can be together but in Fantasyland, CMs are more likely to have restrictions like only 6 people max for a wheelchair. If that happens, you may need to split up your group into two - one with each wheelchair. But if you all return together, chances are you'll be seated together.

As mentioned before, if your parents cannot transfer out of their wheelchair to take two steps or so with assistance, you'll have to wait for the wheelchair accessible vehicle so in some cases, only one of your parents can go on a ride at a time.

Thanks everyone! My dad can transfer and even walk short short distances. He is a product of Agent Orange and has major never damage in his leg. Mom can transfer with help. She just can't walk with out assistance.

If you plan on watching the parade, there are disabled viewing areas in front of Plaza Inn and across from IASW. They usually only allow one additional person per wheelchair, but if you get there early enough, your entire family can be to the left or right of the rope and enjoy it together with a great view.

Thank you!! We don't mind being close by to enjoy it together so this tip I will pocket and use!
