Wheelchair and Skyliner

Hi all! I will be traveling to Disney World in January with my mom who has mobility issues and her friend who was just diagnosed with kidney cancer recently. Because my mom has bad knees (needs replaced but won't happen before our trip) she is unable to walk long distances for long periods of time. She is able to transfer and walk short distances. I suspect she and her friend (who may tire easily) will trade the wheelchair off and on as needed. My question (because traveling with a wheelchair is new to us) is how does it work on the Skyliner? Can we fold it up and push it on the Skyliner (like a stroller) and walk right on or do we have to go to the area where they stop the gondola to load the wheelchair? Thanks for your help. She is trying to decide whether to bring her own wheelchair, to rent one at the parks, or to rent one from another service.

A wheelchair could be folded up and pushed on, but keep in mind that the Skyliner will keep moving slowly while getting on and off if you choose to do that.
(Strollers are actually rolled onto the moving Skyliners).

At the dedicated wheelchair/mobility boarding areas, the Skyliner is at a complete stop when getting on and off. The Riviera station is the exception - there is a specific spot for loading and unloading, but the Skyliner doesn’t stop. It just slows down a little more than usual.
