Hello all
I just wanted to offer some information this morning. We had a person in our group get injured while on our trip. She hurt her knee and couldn't put weight on her leg. We were treated wonderfully in park and the wheelchair rental fit our needs. Disney did a great job making sure we could continue our trip. Here is the hole in the planning - you can't take the rented wheelchair on the trams to Mickey and Friends. Once you get to Mickey and Friends, there are no wheelchairs at the tram drop off to help you get someone to the car. For security reasons, and totally understandably, there is no vehicle access to the tram drop off area. So there we were, no wheelchair and an injured person. Tram cast members were unconcerned and disinterested in helping us find a solution. Asking one cast member if there was any solution was met with a one word answer of "No".
So - please be sure you have some sort of solution at the Mickey and Friends lot. Or! Ask for the wheelchair rental folks to escort the injured person to the pedestrian pick up area. Go get the car and drive to pick up your wheelchair party there. I really wish that suggestion had been given to us. Now we know.
