I was hoping someone could tell me how to reserve a wheel chair. Who do you call and how do you go about reserving one? Do you get it at the port or on the ship? Does it cost money to reserve one? Any information would be much appreciated.......
We are so new to these types of questions. Our cruise is 2 weeks away - the 8/11/05 Wonder. We will be traveling with 33 people occupying 10 cabins. We originally booked the end of October. We are taking a family member who has cancer. Two months ago, we were told by the Dr.'s that the family member will not make it until September. We tried to switch the cruise to the earliest available...but July was "sold out" for 10 cabins. We were able to make a last minute change to August 11th (earliest available cruise)......had to change flights, hotels, etc - what a nightmare....the price of the cruise more than doubled and we are now sailing during "hurricane season". None of that matters - as long as we can celebrate on the cruise. Well, we are now two weeks away and our family member has taken a turn for the worst. He now needs oxygen and needs a wheel chair. All he talks about is this cruise....he will be surrounded by his brothers and sister, 3 children, and all his grand children. We are keeping our fingers crossed that he has enough strength to make it....he is looking so forward to this. Which is why I asked the question about the wheel chair - Any info or advise would be much appreciated. We will be staying on deck 1 nearest to the medical center on the boat in case of an emergency.
