What's YOUR weird quirk?

If I see a snake in the road I will do almost anything to avoid running over it, I am afraid if I hit it the snake will somehow hang on to the underside of my car and get in.
OHMY GOD Do you know I have never seen a mistake in the wild!!!! I would be petrified!!
Are there many wild snakes wandering around Orlando :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I also can't sleep without socks or with my feet hanging over the side of the bed. :teeth:

I have to have blankets on me. Unfortunately, I'm always hot. More unfortunately, my fertility medications give me hot flashes and night sweats. I can NOT sleep if I'm hot. I panic. So, my house is usually sub-zero and DH is always freezing. Tough, I tell him. I going through all of this to bear his children, he can wear a sweater!

I can go days without eating, but if I'm thirsty I freak out. I can't be thirsty. Ever.

I can hear an ant fart in the woods and then I can smell it. My ears are super-sensitive and my sense of smell is amazing.

When I get to my car, before I get in, I have a ritual: First, I look under the car (someone could be under there waiting to grab me). Then, I open the back (it's an SUV and someone could be lying in the back waiting to grab me - nevermind that I have LoJack and the alarm would have beeped 3 times if someone had tampered with the car). Then, I open the back doors (someone could be lying back there waiting to grab me). Then, I walk around and check for any damage (someone could have hit the car while I was away from it). Then, I check all my tires to make sure they're not flat. I get in the car and immediately lock the door (someone could be waiting to grab me). I start the car. I get my ever-present bottle of water out of my bag. I put my cell phone earpiece in so I don't have to fumble with it later if someone calls me. I buckle my seatbelt. Only then can I actually drive off.

I have to be in pajama bottoms around the house. I can't wear "outside" pants inside.

I hate bare feet....mine and everyone elses.

I can't go near the trash or the cats' litter boxes. I gag....probably due to the amazing sense of smell.

I hate it if my food touches. I do NOT want A1 Steak Sauce in my mashed potatoes.

I choke on elbow macaroni. It just slides down my throat with no warning.

I can't swallow pills. For some reason, my swallow reflex just ceases to exist and I sit there with the pill floating and melting in my mouth.

I have to sleep with the TV on and it has to be on Nick at Nite or TVLand. I can sleep right through it, but if DH changes the channel, I immediately snap awake.

I don't like any sort of condiment on my food. I like everything plain and no lettuce or tomatoe.
. :earseek:

Me neither - Plain, nothing on it - at all. Plain Hamburgers, hotdogs, ribs with no sauce - no mayo, mustard.... I hate even the smell of ketchup... :crazy2:

I also cannot stand if my hands feel dirty - I wash a zillion times a day (OCD - yep!) Ill grab a t-shirt or preferrably a rug (with the grippy back) when Im at a store, and fold it over the handle of the cart - so I dont have to touch it! :scared: I dread meeting new people - not cuz I dont know what to say, but because Ill have to take their dirty little paw and shake it!!!

Reading through everyones replies I realise I have loads of weird hang ups / quirk.
I am scared of spiders, they run far too fast for their body weight.
I always but mugs / cups in the cupboard in their patterns / sets.
Dirty dishes always go on the left of the sink and I get annoyed if anyone puts them on the right.
I hate to go to bed with my socks on :teeth:
I won't sleep on the side of the bed nearest the door.

I could go on and on but if I do someone might stop me visiting WDW in January :rotfl2:

I have to have ice in everything, crushed ice is even better. Even if it's cold already, like canned soda right from the fridge, I have to pour it in a glass with ice. I just like all my drinks really cold. :cold: I even have an A&W rootbeer glass mug that I keep in the freezer and I love it when I pour the soda in there and little ice crystals form on the top of the drink like a slushie almost. And no, I do not drink coffee or tea ever.

That's me - all except the crushed ice, I prefer cubes. Water is the only thing I drink without ice.

I have to sleep with at least a sheet as well.

I hate air blowing directly on me.

Can't sleep to music or TV - but do fall asleep to the sound of a fan (not pointed toward me of course ;) )

Didn't think about this being a quirk but I also can't stand being "dressed" at home. I'm always in yoga pants or pj bottoms and a T. I'll change 5 times in a day if I'm running errands.

can't drink from a can. I have to pour it in a glass and watch while I'm doing it. Guess I'm always afraid of what will come out. ;)

I also have to have appliances unplugged , just turned off isn't enough. A lot of times before we go out I'll send my DH into the bathroom to check to make sure I unplugged the curling iron, otherwise, I'll be worried about it all night while we're gone.

I have to check a couple of times before going to bed that the doors are locked and that the garage door is down.

I sleep with the sheet or blanket completely covering my whole body, including my head (I know, weird).

I cannot stand nightgowns. I always get twisted up in them. I always sleep in shorts/tshirts.

When my DH's out of town I cannot sleep without having my cell phone upstairs in the bedroom by me (just in case someone cuts the phone lines).

I have to double check that the kids are safe & sound in their beds and make sure my dog is inside and at the foot of my bed before I can even attempt to go to sleep.

I have to call my mom everynight before I go to bed to say good night and tell her I love her.

Oh, and Im terrified, terrified, terrified of BEE's (wasps, hornets, anything trying to attack me when I walk outside)

I was enjoying a fall day - had the windows down, it was sunny and gorgeous outside.... and a bee flew in. That was it...

I pulled over, parked the car in the CVS parking lot, and walked home 3 blocks... got my kids to go over there and take care of the attacking bee, before I'd go back and drive it home.

I was willing to leave it there forever if it wouldnt come out.

I will not eat Marshmallows. All b/c of the Stay Puft Marshmallow man.

Windows. I hate windows--especially at night. I must sleep on the bed in the spot that is the farthest away from the window. I don't like that someone could be watching me and I wouldn't know it.

Like sparx--I won't walk over grates. But b/c I'm afraid I will drop something in and it will be gone forever.

I never wear make-up and hate fussing over my hair.
Must have the TV all the time

Okay this is weird!!

Katon: I also have to have everything unplugged not just off. Toasters, toaster oven, iron, etc. And yes, the closet doors MUST all be shut before bed.

I didn't use to unplug everything, but when our toaster oven malfunctioned a couple months ago and stayed in the on position, I changed my views on that. We would have had a house fire if we hadn't been home. Yikes!

Can only drink coffee with cream but no sugar
Can only drink hot tea with Equal but no cream
Can only drink milk and wine with ice (this embarrasses family in public :guilty: )

Cannot open canned biscuts or champagne - too afraid

Must eat all foods together. Each bite has meat, starch & veggie.

There can never be any dirty dishes in my sink....ever, makes me crazy.

There are more, but I will quit before it gets too weird. :earboy2:

You never wear make-up? Never? Ever?

OMG, wow. I never leave the house without it. At least a little something like some powder or blush. I won't even go to the mailbox without my "face" on.

My bed has to be in the middle of the room, away from the wall. If I sleep in a hotel where the bed is against a wall, I have to sleep facing the wall. Result of reading too many vampire novels as a kid--I used to think they would come out of the space between the bed and wall and bite my neck when I was sleeping.

I cannot touch raw chicken without gloves, under any circumstances. But I can touch raw beef and lamb.

If I am in an elevator, I have to be touching the wall as it ascends. But not when it decends.

I get mad when my food touches other foods. And even madder if gravy runs over everything.

I have a lot of the same quirks as the rest of you. But my weirdest one is that I hold my breath when I pass someone on the sidewalk. I freak out thinking I might breathe in the air that someone else just blew out.

LOL! I eat my mashed potatoes with steak sauce. When I was little my older sister showed me that and I still eat them that way. It's actually really good.

I don't mind my food touching, in fact most of the time I mix my food up before I eat it. When I have beef stroganoff I always mix in corn.

I cannot have my feet uncovered while I sleep either. I also have to have the sheet tucked in.

I absolutely hate talking on the phone to people I don't know. It's a weird phobia.

I am deathly afraid of roaches (especially when they're flying). I can't look at them or kill them without feeling like I'm going to vomit.

I freak out when I have to drive across long bridges that go over water. The thought of being stuck in a sinking car terrifies me. It goes along with the fact that I have a phobia of drowing or suffocating.

I am not a hot beverage person...everything has to be cold, preferably with ice, even in the winter (except water).

No feet or hands can hang over the edge of the bed - at my age, I'm still irrationally afraid that something will grab me!

I'm still kinda afraid of dark places...

I feel too vulnerable if I don't have at least a sheet covering me at night.

I hate washing dishes or loading the dishwasher because I get really grossed out when the wet, soggy food left on the plates touches my fingers (I usually wear rubber gloves for these jobs). Forget emptying the drain when it's full of food... :earseek:

Not too weird, I guess... ;)

I don't like being "dressed" to just sit around the house, I don't sit around naked- I were pajamas or shorts & t-shirts until it is time to go then I get dressed.

I thought I was the only one to do this.
