What's your strategy?

What do you do at MGM opening??

  • Ride RnR first

  • Ride ToT first

  • FP RnR, then ride ToT first

  • FP Tot, then ride RnR first

  • Don't do any of the above.....start elsewhere first!

At opening, which do of these is your plan at Disney MGM?? I have an idea of my plan, but would like to see how it compares to y'alls. Thanks!

Ride RNR first, grab a FP for it, go hit TOT and return to RNR and use the FP.

grab a fp for rnr...ride rnr...ride rnr...go to tot...ride tot...get fp for tot...use fp at rnr...make my ps at sci fi...ride gmr, and then go to tot to use my fastpass...

we check to see which is longer then fast pass it go on the other go to something like GMR/star tours and then go to do the ride or basically i sit there witing for the others then ride GMR/star tours then wait again
:p

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: only a DIS person would understand all that!!!!

My DS and I always fastpass RnR and ride ToT

Thanks for your input everyone....I appreciate it!! Answers are very interesting.......

Hi!

When I went, I FPed the RnR and did ToT first. The main reason was that ToT seems like it loads faster (since each elevator car loads more people on it than each RnR train). Therefore, there is less time waiting in line when you are in those precious early morning hours and can get a lot of rides done over and over.

This way, you will likely get onto the ToT ride faster than the RnR. When you are done with ToT, you can go to RnR without a FP, and then go back and use the RnR FP! By the way, we only wanted to do ToT once, since our stomachs couldn't take another ride on it. So to sum up, we did:

1. got FP for RNR
2. ToT
3. RnR
4. used the fastpass for RnR

Hope that makes sense! :cool1:

Makes perfect sense!! THAT is the kind of info (and reasoning explanation) I was looking for. Wasn't sure what was more popular and formed the longer line the quickest. We haven't been to MGM in forever....actually, I think the last time I was there, they were just starting to build ToT?? :earseek: ...maybe?? Not sure. But, we've never been there with DS and it's his first time there....he (and we) can't wait to ride these 2 thrill rides (we're a family of thrill ride junkies!!). So, I wanted this kind of info to help me plan......thanks!! :wave2:

We usually FP ToT and ride RnR first. Don't know why...it just works out that way.

since my DS#2 and i arrive in WDW first, wife and DS#1 do not fly, we usually go and FP RnR and then ride TOT. this usually works out well for us because my DW & DS#1 arent thrill ride fans while DS#2 is. this way he gets to do his favorite rides before the rest of the family arrives and we can enjoy the rest of the day doing things as a family

If you get there right when it opens, you can fastpass RNR and then ride TOT several times. We usually get to go about three times in a row before it really gets crowded, then we move over to the roller coaster.

this is my dilemma....ride ToT a couple of times before RnR?? we've never ridden either one, and we don't know which we'll like better? don't want to get stuck in a long line at RnR...in case we like that one better than RnR. So, far, my plan is to FP RnR, ride ToT, back to ride RnR (even if FP time isn't around yet)....knowing my son, I'm guessing he's going to like RnR better than ToT.

we have just ridden both and not fastpassed at all...........always ToT first because ds loved it and wasn't big enough for RnR, though this trip he was.........................but this time I noticed the difference in loading speed and line build-up someone else posted, so this time we rode ToT, got a fp for it, then rode RnR, then used fp on ToT, then got RnR fastpass and came back to it after Star Tours...............but I think next time we'll start with RnR...................................

Well, thanks for your input everyone! Seems like the line moves faster at RnR than ToT? I am planning to FP RnR and ride ToT in the meantime. We'll have to go from there. Thanks! :wave2:

That's what we do too!!!

many here have said they see which one has the longer line, then they decide from there which one to ride, which one to fasspass.

My question is: Are these 2 rides close enough together that you can pretty easily check them both out, or are they farther apart at the park, making this more of a challenge to do? (obviously we have never been there yet :teeth: ). thanks for input on this!

:confused3 thanks for asking, cuz I was wondering too! they seem close, but yet rather far apart according to the map. i can only imagine running to one and then the other and back again....whew!!! I'm sure someone will give us the answer!
