What's your OTHER favorite Theme Park?

You could say that I am a coaster fanatic. I & DFi base all of our vacations around them. I just love adding to my coaster credit count :teeth:. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't ride any. Seriously, I have coaster withdrawal during the winter time :rotfl:
So a few of my faves are--
Silver Dollar City
Cedar Point
Holiday World
Busch Gardens Tampa
Sea World Orlando
Celebration City (Branson, MO)
Kings Island

Opryland is still a favorite of mine even though it doesn't exist anymore. It's such a shame that they closed it.

I love Dollywood in the Smoky Mountains!
It is so clean. Very family-oriented and the employees are so friendly and helpful. Dolly adds something new to the park every year. :goodvibes

Well I obviously don't think there are any parks that are better than Disney, but I do think that Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure are up there just right below Disney. I could go on a trip to Disney without visiting those 2, but I definitely like going there sometimes. The theming at those parks is far better than anywhere else (except for Disney of course).

Just saw your post Goofy4Eeyore. I`m new at posting.
My family also loved Opryland. It was so much better than the mall that is in its place. Heard a story that they are talking to Dolly about putting a Dollywood in the Nashville area. I would be in heaven! :cloud9:

I have led such a sheltered life! The only theme parks I have been to that I remember are Disney, Sea World, Dollyworld and Opryland. When I was little we went to Busch Gardens in Tampa but I really don't remember it much. We also went to 6 Flags over TX when I was 7? 8? but don't remember it either.

I, too, hated to see Opryland close. The Opry Mills that was built in it's place is a JOKE! In the 10 yrs or so that it's been there, I probably haven't been to it more than 7 times. I LOVED the Grizzly River Rapid Rampage!! Since Opryland was only 30 mins from my house, we went several times a yr. The powers that be claim Opryland was losing money but I'm willing to bet that Opry Mills isn't making much if any more than the Park did. The restaurants are the only places I go to.

Dollywood was alot of fun too. It is a nice, clean and family oriented Park. Hard to go wrong w/anything in Smokies.

Cedar Point gets my vote, be sure if you go there to visit a pub called the One Eyed Pony.

Yeah, but if you do, don't forget to let the KIDS pick the ponies :rotfl2: !!

love you, sister!

1st choice: Disney World in the daytime.
2nd choice: Disney World at night. :earboy2:

Well, we made the pilgramage to the Roller Coaster Mecca, Cedar Point, a few years back and we were not dissapointed.

But my heart has to go out to Kennywood in Pittsburgh for the nostalgia and history and of course the The Jack Rabbit.

I'd say Hersheypark - we are lucky and live fairly close to here - love to go at Christmastime.

Bush Gardens
Knoebels - my husband grew up going here - it's a nice family park

In no particular order:

Cedar Point (my home park)
Busch Gardens Williamsburg (absolutely stunning)
Kennywood (proposed to my wife after a day there.)

Sea World Orlando
Discovery Cove
Busch Gardens Tampa
Cedar Point Ohio
Kennywood (I have to say this one I live near it ;) )

KENNYWOOD! :cool1:
Rickety wooden rollercoasters are best! But maybe I'm biased having grown up near it.

we never go to any other theme park..used to go to cedar point when the kids needed "Mom and Dad" along but those days are over and husband gets sick on most spinning rides and dislike most of the big roller coasters so not worth the money. tried universal but blech to us,

I used to go to Kennywood every yr for our school picnic ( don't even think they have them anymore!)

Busch Gardens Williamsburg

Hershey park

Dorney park. Don't know that I love it but it is a smaller park and my kids have a lot of fun there.

Universal Studios
Busch Gardens, Williamsburg
SeaWorld, Orlando
Islands of Adventure
Hershey Park

We have a sweet little park just south of the silicon valley sprawl called Bonfante Gardens. It has an agricultural -historical California theme and is aimed at kids 12 and under. The landscaping is beautiful, as beautiful as Disney, and the rides are cute: the artichoke dip, strawberry sundae, garlic spin. If you find yourself near San Jose CA, please stop by and give it a try!

Ridden all the roller coasters from Cedar Point to Six Flags NewEngland to Busch Gardens and everything in between and I have to say that Kennywood's Jack Rabbit (built in 1928) has to be the scarriest coaster I have ever ridden on. None of those new fangled shoulder harnesses, just a seatbelt and the biggest air time of any coaster. Sat in the back, was lifted off our seat and we never thought we were gonna come down.
