What's your opinion of Caribbean Beach

thanks for the reviews. If I get a room at the preferred location, how far is the bus stop and pool(the main one bc of the slide),
I'll be by myself w 2 young children so it will not work out if there is too much walking. after a long day at the park they might fall asleep on the bus. When we were at POFQ that happened but the room wasn't that far.

We also enjoyed CBR. I believe we stayed in Aruba. Yes, CBR is a very large resort but we felt it was great for a young child. We enjoyed the stroll to the food cout and to the pool. We rented bicycles and rode around the resort. We had a great time.

We loved CBR when we were there this April. I have a DS14 and DS11 and they loved the beaches, the hammocks, the beach chairs....as well as the pools. And they actually preferred the "quiet" pool in Martinique where we stayed. I think you'd be fine in Jamaica or Aruba -- there's a bridge across the lake to Old Port Royale where the food court is. My kids also loved the food court and game arcade.

I think the big thing is this -- it's a great place to just kick back and relax... beautiful grounds, and because it is spread out it never really seemed that crowded in any one spot to us. We didn't have a car and it was fine. In fact, I walked the entire walkway around the resort a couple of mornings -- it was a great way to wake up!

You'll love CBR! But do definitely read through the 2 FAQ's that Safetymom mentioned... they gave us lots of good info prior to our trip as well! Have fun!

Add us to the list of CBR fans. Yes it is a big resort and is spread out, but not everything is miles away from everything else. Martinique and Trinidad North are the preferred buildings, as previously noted, and are closest to Old Port Royale and the main pool. Jamaica and Aruba are just across a short food bridge from OPR. Only Barbados and Trinidad South are farther out. We had no issues walking over the footbridge and didn't find it "poopy" at all - we found it a delightful and scenic little oasis. The quiet pools are handy to each village and were never crowded. We personally didn't feel that the parking lots poorly lighted at night. . The theming is really gorgeous, mousekeeping was excellent, bus stops were close and we never waited more than ten minutes for a bus. We felt the variety of offerings in the court was excellent (we didn't eat at Shutters). We also found it to be a very quiet resort, due largely I think to the fact that it is spread out and that the rooms have outside entrances. I find that inside corridors only serve to amplify and echo every sound and conversation. With the outside entrances and walkways, we never heard anyone else, unless they happened to be having a conversation just as they were passing our door. All in all we consider it a great value for the money and even prefer it to the Poly.

I don't think that you will regret going to CBR at all if you do switch. We have been there twice and stayed in Jamaica both times. Its nice, quiet, not a bad walk to the OPR(food court/stores). I have walked around the resort and it seems to be very nice all the way around.

Stayed there twice and LOVED it both times. Once in nAruba(I liked the walk across the bridge)once in Martinique. It;s a little more a night (10-15?) a night to stay in a preferred location, near the food court and main pool.

Then theming is excellent and I love the happy carribean music that plays everywhere. YTes, it is spread out but so is PO, and CSR. It's a great resort for kids. A fun thing to do is rent those surrey bikes and drive around the lake. I have never understood the bias some have against this resort. If I cannot get my fav hotel(WL) CBR is a close second. :flower:

We stayed at the CBR in 11/03 and loved it. We were in Trinidad South which is the most distant village in the resort. We had close access to a quiet pool, a bus stop, a beach and had a great view of the Epcot fireworks. Our walk to "Centertown" (the food court and main pool) was a little over five minutes.

The major complaint people seem to have is the size of the resort and the amount of walking involved. Given the amount of walking we did each day in the parks, our trip through the resort was a easy stroll.

Hi, ValDisney,

I can't quote on how far the bus stop and pool is from the preferred locations (having not stayed in that section), but hopefully someone will be along that can. We stayed in Jamaica in 2001, and it was maybe a 5 minute walk from our room to the bus stop closest to us, so I would imagine the preferred locations would be less. It was probably a 5-7 minute walk across Parrot Cay to get to Old Port Royale and the main theme pool as well (but by 2 adults with long legs :goodvibes ).

We loved CBR! I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again (or recommend it to anyone), but we're on the "want to stay in all the resorts" kick, so it will be a while! Good luck! :cheer2:

There is a bus stop for every village so you aren't more than a few minutes away from a bus stop.

Just wanted to add my love for CBR :flower: ! I have stayed in Aruba and Jamaica and Martinique and Jamaica is my favorite island at the resort. I love the fact the resort is spread out (feels more resort like to me if that makes sense!) and being from a cold climate I love the theming/atmosphere.

The staff at CBR has been so generous and great everytime I have visited there. Last trip I had the same bellboy help me to my room and help me store my luggage on my departure day. He was very kind and remembered me and he was a pleasure to talk to as well. The team members in the gift shop have been great too with locating stuff for me. One time when I checked in they even asked where I wanted to stay (back in 2001 checked in at like 11:00pm!).

November to be exact, and I was one of the ones who complained about how BIG this resort is. However, after staying in POP since than, and hearing every toilet flush, and kids running up and down the hallway at all hours, I realized I didn't hear a PEEP the whole time I was at CBR back in 2003! :p I stayed in Trinidad South, second floor, building 38 and I had a King end room, and I had a water view! :earseek: It was VERY nice to say the least, and now I am at the age where I would enjoy this resort more. ;) So, this November I have ressies AGAIN for CBR and might make this my permanent resort! :rolleyes1

I would definately choose CBR over the Values. The rooms seemed bigger and the pools did not seem as busy as the values.
