What's your luckiest find on the pin racks?

My name is Taylor and I was wondering what your best "find" on the racks was.....mine was the Cinderella and the Prince wedding pin. I found it in February on the rack at Epcot's Pin Central. This pin was supposed to be sold out last summer, but I got lucky and found it!!

I had heard that the "My first Trip to WDW" pin sold out pretty quickly.

On our trip last March, I found two lonely leftovers at the main pin station at MGM.

I was glad to give them a happy home.

In February 2000 they put the First Day/Last Day Pins on the rack
at the outdoor pin station in Magic Kingdom. It was early entry day so we
went to the park at 7:30AM and purchased 2 pins each.

Believe it or not, we found both an artist's choice and an Epcot PTP on the rack at Downtown Disney They had aparently been returned for some reason. Took 'em a while to figure out how to ring the pins up, since they weren't supposed to be sold there at all, but they finally ended up just ringing up two $6 pins Not bad considering they cost more from that when they were originally for sale.

Mine was in May, I found the DL Haunted Mansion Hearse pin. My heart was racing!

Mine was the Epcot Banner Mystery pin. And because I wanted to be fair and play by the rules I grabbed 4. @ for me and 2 for Richie. he CM in line behind me bought the other 16. NOT FAIR!!!
I ran around the park for the rest of the day trying to find more. I managed to find 4 more at another pin cart.
But I think I shared them well, I traded very fairly for those that I had, and never did the e-bay thing. Peggie

My best pin buy on a rack was Earthday 2000 and it was way outdated.

Mine was a WDW January 2000 pin of the month (Disneyland Castle) that I found on the racks alone 3 days after it was reportedly sold out at all the parks. I never saw another on any rack after that time. You just never know!

My favorite fines, in February of 2000: Found on the racks the following:

Last Day/First Day (when they were supposed to be sold out)
2nd group of Filmstrip pins-never did get the first four
Wedding Mickey and Minnie LE
WDW railroad
February POM
Gold 4 park Dangle
Teal Castle Dangle


all were found at the Animal Kingdom pin cart. Imagine, all those pins at one location. I was thrilled. Never did have that kind of luck again.

My luckiest finds on the racks were: First Day/Last Day (1999/2000), JanuRay Error pin, and Haunted Mansion E-ticket. Had the chance to get other great pins but I didn't realize it at the time. Duh!

When we were in WOD over Memorial Day weekend this year they were restocking some pins that someone had returned. We were able to get New Years Day 2001, Easter 2001, Hat Pins, and they also put out a full set of the 12 Days of Christmas pins!

Wow, Matthew!!! And I thought *I* was lucky!!! I wish I'd found a Christmas set like you did!! That was a great find! I'm only 8, so I guess I have lots of time to try and trade for one!

Does this count? Didn't find a rack pin but after talking one afternoon to a Cast Member in the MK he said you probably don't have this pin and turned around and gave me a "Keys to the Kingdom" pin still in it's little bag. Wow I know that made my day.

Two weeks after the MSEP Spinner pin was sold out, I happened to be in the Emporium in MK when they put ten of them on the rack while I was searching for something else. They were all gone in less than 2 minutes! My DD and I managed to get 3 of them!

I could have purchased a dozen Plane Crazy pins - had them in my had, but put them back because I did not like Mickey's face on them. There was no limit at the time they were sold. I could have had them all.

I found a Mickey for president but put it back because it was sticky from being handled by a kid in front of me (just kidding) there were actually two pins there…. Still kidding

My luck has been with returned pins, I have found the Earth day, Gemini, and Easter pins.

You just have to get lucky and be there when it happens, but Disney Security frowns on spending the night in front of the pin carts.
