Ok everyone, now that it seems June will be skipped over for AP discount rates in the resorts it seems it will be packed this month. The resorts are so booked they are not discounting rooms- at least not yet anyway. So who else is scared to death this will be the crowdest they have ever seen disney? We go every year in June (past 6 years anyhow). Is this June going to be the worst yet?? Any advice or tips on how to survive the crowds? We are going June 8-17, my children are 3 and 9. Please calm my nerves!!!

I have never been but I am scared it will be so crowded it will stress me out and make for a bad first experience. I am going to be there for about 12 days so I don't have to be in a big hurry but with a lot of people around I am sure it will put strain on the WDW employees and then it will reflect on to us...lets keep our fingers crossed that EVERYONE has a great trip.

I have to admit...I am more worried about one of us getting sick or something devastating happening to ruin everything...in the scheme of things...crowds would be the better alternative.

We are going June 23-July 2. This will be our first time going during the crowded and hot season, but it's the only time that works for us this year. We figure it will be very hot and very crowded, so we plan to spend lots of time by the pool and not stress ourselves to see and do everything. I do sometimes regret that we didn't plan a trip somewhere other than a place with lines for this time of year. I'm thinking we should have planned a trip to Mexico or somplace without lines! Our girls are 9 and 12. I keep telling everyone not to expect too much out of this vacation due to the crowds. Keeping our fingers crossed that it's not too bad!!!

We were there in June two years ago and are going back again this year. The key for us is to get up early. We seem to get on alot of rides during those few hours. Then we go back to the hotel and relax for a couple of hours. We have two teenage children and they don't even complain about getting up early. After all it is DISNEY. Go have a good time and take it ALL in, including the people!! :cool1: :cool1:

We have the same strategy as you do! We always get up early, and then head back to the hotel/pool for mid-day R&R and then head out to the parks again for the evening. We will try to make the best of the crowds. We will expect the worst but hope for the best!

I just booked a room at CSR yesterday for June with an AP discount and there were rooms available at other locations as well :confused3

Let me second - or is that third - the advice given by tink 2257 and SelectTheGold. We'll be there May 31 - June 6, and we've been to WDW in the hot & busy summer times before.

1. Get up - and get to a park - early; preferably at rope drop, at a park with EMH-AM if possible. It is still quite pleasant that early in the morning, and you will get so much touring done in first 2 or 3 hours.

2. As the park starts to fill up around 11AM or noon, head back to your hotel. Rest, cool off in the pool, put your feet up, take a nap - whatever you need to do to recharge. This is the busiest - and hottest - time of day at the parks.

3. The parks are open later this time of year, so take advantage of it. Head back to a park at 4 - 7 PM (depending on park and hours) - you'll see hundreds of people leaving as you re-enter. Plus, we just LOVE the parks at night, all lights and shadows. EMH-PM is a mixed bag: much busier than EMH-AM, but if the extra 3 hours means a park is open until midnight or later, this is prime park time.

IMHO, the worst thing you can do (and we have friends who have done it) is to sleep in, go out for breakfast and show up at the MK at 11:30. Lines will be long, the sun will be hot, and tempers will start to flare.

IMHO - YMMV - Be well!

I agree with everything the previous posters said, plus I suggest you have one ADR every day so you have a relaxing air conditioned sit down meal if you need it. We try to make it a late breakfast or early lunch. It will be our main meal for the day. We also plan lots of swim time. We'll be there June 9 through June 20.

Agree with everyone... We go every year and the advice is great. We are going June 9th-June 17th... Babby I will be looking for your green mickey!

bump....

any more thoughts?

thanks to those who have responded :)

We go every year in June and have a blast. If you have a plan, you'll be fine. AKL is always full when we are there and it never seems to bother us. We are always at the parks when they open and have ADRs and have a blast.

Is it really busier this year or is Disney just smarter about offering ap discounts? I know it probably is busier given all the stats about travel being up, but I'm not scared! :goodvibes

The most important thing is to remember to have fun no matter what the weather or the crowds!!

Hope to see some of you there June 9-15th!

We are looking forward to our June trip, its crowded and hot, but not as hot as August. We were going several years in row in Aug, then switched to June, much better in June. We do the regular, start out early, break mid day, dip in the pool, relax, then head back. This will really make the days feel much better, and you are so ready for the 2nd half of the day. I have found that by just pacing yourself and not rushing around, you'll enjoy the parks much better. Have fun and enjoy, no stress makes for a better trip. Hurry up June
