Whats your gameplan for BF? State your strategy and "Must Have's" here!!

I really need to plot this out. Maybe that'll be tomorrow night's project. Tonight's project is figuring out Thanksgiving!! :headache:

From reading The Target posts.. The Kinect with 4 games for 99.00 is perfect. What time is Target opening?

I want the Walmart Xbox Konnect bundle too, but I think the line will start for that 6 pm or earlier on Thanksgiving day.......

When do the BF items come up online for Walmart?? I will be checking during thanksgiving day..... and hoping.

I go out around 9am on BF...I will be away from home this year so it will be cool to go to new stores!

I am going for:

Walmart: Zelda: Skyward sword, a pillow, sheets, and a mattress topper
Target: PJ pants, a blanket and body pillow cover
Macy's: maybe more pillows.

I have a thing for pillows. (when i was newly separated form my now exhusband i filled my bed with pillows to make up for the body that should have been there... now even though i have my Fiancé, i still like loads of them around me.)

Oh yes we've not just seen it on Tv but we've been stalking it on youtube and other sites. My mom is going to buy this game for DD for Christmas. Actually I'm hoping it's available at midnight on Amazon because I will be up and waiting to order!

That would be great! Just as a tip if this is your first BF trip and I know every area is different but I've had great success at Target in my area. If you have more than one Target near you go to the less popular one, I avoid the super stores and go for ones that aren't as big. Less people think about them in their black friday plans. The downside to this is they sometimes have less of the products you want available, but so far I haven't had any problems. Find a shopping buddy if you can and get in line around 2 hours before the store opens. I bring a chair and blanket and then one of us runs them back to the car about 30 minutes before the store opens. It makes for a much more comfortable experience. Target is good about putting piles of the more popular items in 2-3 different areas of the store to avoid that mad dash to electronics, or at least help it some. They will also have a map on their website a few days prior to BF of where certain items will be located, this isn't always accurate and they hand out different ones while you're in line as well. If the kinect is in more than one area have your shopping buddy go to one area and you head to another as soon as you hit the doors. If you both end up grabbing one, it's much easier to put one back. If they are just in one location use your shopping buddy to come into the area they are located from two different sides. One might be too crowded, while the other side doesn't have as many people. I know it sounds like a lot of effort to put into just buying one item, but I enjoy the strategy and so far it has yet to fail me.
Thank you so much for the tips. I am desperate to get this deal for my mom. don't really need anything for me, just this deal for mom. Since you said you had great luck with a target in your location I looked at your location and couldn't help but laugh.:rotfl: Any way you could share your favorite Target location with me as it is quite possible that your area is my area too depending on where in KC you are?

For those looking for Kinect at Target I'd buy ahead of time and price matching. I was at Target today scoping out the bundles and the guy in the electronics department told me that they'll be getting less than 10 of each item, possibly less than 5.

One of my friends is going for that Camera too!!!!! Good luck!!! I hope you get one!!:wizard:

So far the only think I know I want for sure is a Kindle - but I think Im not going to find it any cheaper than the $79 on Amazon. I can use my swagbucks to help pay for it!

Well, not cheaper but Staples is offering a $15 GC with purchase of the $79 Kindle. $20 GC on the Kindle Touch (both versions). They are also offering GC on the Nook - both color and touch.

I'm going to go to Target on Saturday and pick up the Xbox, TomTom and a couple of other items and have them price match on Friday during the day.

That is a good deal - if I didnt have swagbuck gift cards to use at Amazon.com I'd go for it!!

Does anyone think the Kindle will be any cheaper on AMazon.com or should I go ahead and order it - I have 35 dollars in gift cards to use from swagbucks on it - so that will help with the cost too!!:goodvibes

Im still not sure of my plan - but, I think we will start at midnight!!

Oh how funny is that? Small world. I live in Overland Park and I love the Target off of Metcalf between Johnson Dr. and Shawnee Mission Parkway. People tend to forget about that one. I've always found a polite crowd (as polite as you can get on black friday) and friendly help in the store.

We're going to WDW for Christmas and that's our present. We have no shopping to do, and I love it! So this year on Black Friday my plans are: SLEEP ALL NIGHT!!!

So, now my inlaws are getting my husband the Kindle, which is fine - so where can I find a nice coffee press pot? Does anyone have any experience with them??????

What will YOU be doing a week from now???

WalMart looks like our first stop. They have a Sony iPod dock for half price and I need one for the bedroom. They have 600 thread count sheets on sale again for $20 and the Kinect part for the XBox for $99.96. If I can succeed in at least getting some of these items I'll be happy.

Target sells French Presses as does Macy's. Bodum is the best known name in French Press and is sold at both stores. For price, have to say haven't seen it on sale anywhere - but Macy's generally has a $10 off $25 coupon good on anything as part of their doorbuster specials.

Ok I think I have my strategy planned out (I better print this off so I don't forget :rotfl:):

4:15am leave my house (omg that's early )
4:30am arrive at my mom's house, drive to Sports Authority
4:45am Check line for Sports Authority. If more than 80 people, proceed to Target. If less than 80 people, hang out in the parking lot until 5:00am opening time. Be one of the first 80 people in the door for a free $10-$500 gift card. Buy wicking socks or hiking "stocking stuffers".
5:15am Proceed to Target. Get Scarf and Pj's for SIL, jeans for Dad, Sweater for dad.
6:15(ish) Proceed to Staples. Get 16gig flash drive and PureBoom stereo earphones (only $2.99!! normally $35!)
6:45am Proceed to Michaels. Use 25% off everything coupon from paper. Get a couple packages of blank ornaments that can be decorated (for my music students and office co-workers gifts).
7:45am Go to Panera so mom can get something to eat (she'll be hungry). My breakfast will be packed in the car to be eaten there (because of food allergies).
8:30am Go to World Market? Ulta? (they're pretty much next door to eachother) Haven't seen these ads yet so this might not happen.
9:00am Go to Kohl's. Get monogrammed towels for DH's grandmother, get boxed jewelry for DH's grandmother, Get Croft and Borrow sweater for mom and MIL.
GO HOME. :rotfl:
Do the rest of my shopping on Amazon, wrap the gifts I just purchased.

If you're in the Northland...or anywhere near it, the Chouteau Target is the forgot about Target up here.

I go to Wal-mart in outlying towns and they are DEAD! Not kidding! I go every year about an hour before the big sales and get everything I want.

  1. Make a bubba keg of coffee.
  2. Dress for crowd control
  3. Leave 90 minutes before shift for 3.3 mile commute
  4. Aim to spend less than an hour attempting to find a parking spo that is less than a mile from the door
  5. Work the 12 hour shift

It's my 11th Black Friday working, my shopping will be done this weekend.

This year my mom and I plan to hit JC Penny's at 4:00 then make it over to Toys R Us because the item I need isn't on sale until 5:00. After Toys R Us we will visit, Sports Authority, Sams Club, Sears, and hopefully by then mall will be completly open. If we feel like it we will stop by Target, Walmart, and Kohls but there is nothing we NEED there.

We will be going to Old Navy and Michaels on Thanksgiving day while everyone is resting before Thanksgiving Dinner.

This is the first year we aren't going to be visiting Kohls, and Target first thing. They don't really have anything I need this year. I can't believe next week at this time we will either be still shopping or we threw in the towel and are at home watching a holiday movie. :santa:

Does anyone in the Birmingham, AL, area know which Target is the "forgotten about" Target here? They all seem to do pretty well!

I really want the $199 Xbox w/ Kinect bundle at WM, but I'm not sure if I want to deal with the WM wackos, LOL. :rotfl:
If I don't go there, I'm going to try to be one of the first in line at Old Navy for the free Kodak Sport camera with a $40 purchase. :thumbsup2

Just wanted you to know my DD works for Old Navy and our store here is only getting 5 camera for Black Friday :guilty:

When you say outlying areas do you mean like Clinton, Warrensburg and places like that? Or are there ones more close? I live on the Kansas side and even the Walmart in Paola is crazy so there aren't any outlying ones to pick from.

Just wanted you to know my DD works for Old Navy and our store here is only getting 5 camera for Black Friday :guilty:

This is EXACTLY why I refuse to even look at Old Navy's BF ad anymore. I stood in line for over an hour one year and was the 10th person in line for the free MP3 players and come to find out they had 3! :scared1: To me that's boarderline bait and switch. I know they say quantities limited, but seriously, 3 and 5 of the items? I refuse.
