For those of us who like to stay at WDW, I was just wondering what your favorite DVC resorts are?

You can vote for more than one.

Is it possible to vote for two? When I go solo, it's definitely BCV. But with DH, it's a more relaxing vacation, more about the time together and relaxation than the time in the parks. For that we love the peacefulness of OKW. But I wouldn't enjoy OKW as much solo, and I wouldn't want to stay at BCV when I'm with DH. Different resorts for different vacations.

I picked AWL (I mean VWL) and SSR. Both seem to have similar relaxing nature feels to them. In my post "ooh now I get to try it" honeymoon phase, I found myself finding reasons not to love all except these two. Doesn't hurt that both have rocking chairs outside the lobby almost always swinging away with a few members just soaking up the atmosphere.

I love WL....

I haven't tried OKW, AKV or BWV yet.
Can't wait to check em off the list:goodvibes

I voted for all of them. Any DVC resort is a favorite of mine, even if I haven't stayed there yet.

Resort selection is largely a matter of personal preference. We have enjoyed our stays at all of the resorts. Here is how we rank the DVC resorts

1. AKV / OKW

AKV:
savanna/animals, theme (African thatched-roof, hewn-timber lodge in a savanna setting inspired by the historic expeditions of 19th century), concierge (sunrise and sunset safaris at AKL), possibly the best executed immersive theme on property and Jiko (based on our experience at AKL)

OKW: style (condo), theme (Caribbean influenced, Key West style Victorian), value (points, dues, villa sizes), laid back atmosphere and Olivia's (particularly when eating outside), boat rentals for canals and DD lake

2. BCV / VWL

BCV:
location (adjacent to Epcot, near Studios and Boardwalk), SAB, theme (early 20th century Mid-Atlantic "stick-style" seaside resort), 11 month booking for December to enjoy CP/Illuminations and a short walk home afterward, great selection of restaurants from Studios to Epcot and the resorts in between

VWL: theme (early 1900s railroad workers' lodge, pre-dating the adjacent grand National Park Service lodge), very relaxing, another great December (holiday decorations) or January (cool weather) resort, restaurants at WL with Poly and Contemporary nearby, on the lake (views and boat rentals) and boat transportation

3. VB: Atlantic beach resort with an OKW feel to it, very relaxing, and not too far from Disney

4. BWV / SSR

BWV:
location along the "Boardwalk" and reduced point rooms, same great restaurant opportunities as BCV

SSR: location (near DD and OKW), great resort to walk around, restaurants (DD and proximity to Olivia's), theme (Turn-of-the-century (circa 1900) Upstate New York grand resort destination)

5. HH: Very nice resort and staff with fine restaurants within walking distance or a short drive, split resort (separate beach house) not as desirable as a single beach front property but is well executed, just too far (six hour drive) for an Orlando resident to go for golf, tennis and beaches

I would have added AWL if I knew that it represented VWL.

I voted for the four we especially like, VWL, AKV, BCV and BWV. Those are the ones we own at. Neither of us would pass over a stay at OKW or SSR, but at OKW I would be limited to first floor or elevator building, and with SSR, I would prefer to be able to request, and pay more for if I had to, a particular area.

It's good to see the "competition" neck-and-neck. I voted for BWV, our home resort, which you can't beat for location or nearby activities and amenities. I also voted for VWL, which happens to be the only other DVC WDW resort that we have stayed at. We loved the proximity to the Magic Kingdom and the secluded backwoods feel. :flower:

Honestly, I have no desire to stay at either OKW or SRR, but may try AKL, or CV if it ever comes to be.

I've tried every DVC except BCV (which I don't have any desire to try), and I liked them all - (some more than others) - but thought I'd forever be in the "sleeping around" camp because they were all nice in different ways.................. until we stayed at AKV.

AKV just does "it" for me, and now I understand the way people who swear by a specific resort feel (I used to secretly think the one-resort folks were loony).

But really, I could be happy never staying anywhere on property other than AKV. I can't wait till Kidani opens and we get the full-DVC effect.

I love BWV for location and overall theme. It is perhaps my overall favorite.

I also enjoyed SSR for the theming and locations. I liked having many different options for returning to the resort (especially when we were in Congress Park). Either take the bus to DTD or SSR, etc.

Finally, I picked AKV even though I haven't stayed there yet. I just know I love the AKL so I know I'll love AKV too. I'm hoping to stay there when I go next year.

There have been 86 voters at this point and look at how even the votes are. No clear winner. Shows that everyone likes something about their DVC.

SSR is in the lead......(Just think the theme of SSR...lol)..its late...

Do you think that people are voting based upon ownership or based upon their favorite resorts? Since SSR is such a large resort, does it have a higher vote due to more owners?
